@scotto: That's why I tried to keep my question in 2 sentences.

I can totally understand why some questions are how they are though. It's extremely nerve racking getting up on the mic in front of all those people. I've never had an issue speaking in front of crowds before the moment I stood behind that mic. Whats worse is while you wait in line you rehearse over and over again in your head, but once you get up there all the adrenaline wipes your mind clean... PAX isn't known for bringing in the most socially skilled individuals... (e.g. "WHAT THE HELL IS THIS JACKET I'M WEARING") so many of them end up fumbling on the question they had probably thought of ahead of time.

Also note, while I was the last question, there were only 2 people behind me who got left out. They really can't pre-screen questions that much unless they cut down the time they spend answering questions.

I don't remember many trying to be a comedian... I honestly only think my bat tech was the only blatant attempt to be funny (my apologies.. I'll keep my whip home next time)

@jennibelle: Yep, with all that funny business, there's a pretty good point buried there.

Miss Ryan tearing down the questioners...

That gamestop dude might have lost his job. Seen plenty of people who get fired because they mention they are representing gamestop and that they have negative opinions about there business partners.

And Shenmue was great, a huge leap above everything else at the time.

Oh, well Jeff has only spent the majority of his life talking and thinking about video games, so he's probably never thought of it that way before.

Fantastic ending.

That was pretty funny

Thanks guys. There are no other two hour panel videos that I'm willing to watch. I even cried a little while watching this.

Great panel as always but goddamn I hate the questions. Loved the ending. You got bopped Lang.

You were the Bat Tech guy? People were debating as to whether or not you were planted, as they so smoothly transitioned from your question to the end segment. We figured they knew to "bring it on home" like wrestling refs tell the wrestlers when it's time to end a match, and it was a fortuitous coincidence that the last question involved a physical challenge to Dave Lang that Jeff could begin to insult him regarding, and then roll right into the promo.

Well...were you planted or not?

That audience has a LOT of white males. Raises the question of how Giant Bomb can reach a more diverse audience.

The intro video from Dave Lang gives me chills. Anyone else?

Me too! That intro was unexpectedly profound. The text is actually from the book 'Pale Blue Dot' by Carl Sagan :)

Dang Brad brought all the puns.

Posted by jennibelle

@adaptor: Awww.. I liked thinking Lang came up with that all on his own, but it makes sense he borrowed it. Suspected so.

finally! thanks for posting this up!

Obviously more sick rap battles from Vinny and Jeff.

Oh god, that ending left me in tears. Brilliant work as always, guys.

Totally the best panel yet, gets better every year!

I have one question: How did no one notice a masked Dad standing around shirtless till he ran up to the stage.

I can actually answer this one. Jeff was in the back for quite a bit just sitting where there were only a few people. When I came back from the bathroom just before the end, I saw Jeff get up to the back wall and very soon afterwards take his shirt off and don the mask. Being right next to him I stood in front of him to hide him a bit just in case; I gotta say, except for two others on the wall near Jeff, everyone else was staring forward.

Jeff asked to let him know when John was going to bean Lang with the bottle, which spoiled it a bit but it was worth seeing Jeff run all the way up and the entire crowd go nuts when he took off the mask.

I loved watching this again and it was even better without the ads. I also love that I can tell what makes Drew laugh as the camera shakes for half a second and then he gets it under control.

Finally got to watch this and I have to say it was just fucking bananas. The best panel I ever watched.

Good lord, these questions... A lot of them are truly fucking painful and embarrassing.

As someone who generally likes to consider myself something of a public advocate for fans and random internet commentariat, even I have started to feel bad about some of the questions being asked. After watching Jeff's talk with NYU students and then comparing the questions of the Pax Panels, there is a night and day difference in the quality and composure of the questions and ensuing discussion.

I still think picking on the people who ask these questions is a really shitty thing to do and I always do my best to watch them. Patrick also gets a lot of props for answering even the worst structured questions. But man. It's like 80% bad jokes or outright incoherence. Is it just that the people who want to ask tougher or more interesting questions are too afraid to do it face to face, or something?

This is the second time I am seeing this. The first LIVE!!! This never gets old.

Probably has something to do with fear or some kind of anxiety. Some of these people probably have really good ideas for questions, but when they get to the mic and they're being watched by not only the Giant Bomb guys, but the whole audience as well as having a camera pointed at them, their brain probably turns in to an incoherent, blabbering mess!

This fucking ending, holy shit!!!

Posted by Brendan

That ending was transcendent.

There seriously doesn't need to be an HD update or anything to Windjammers. PSN has a large selection of NeoGeo games that are just straight-up emulated. Why can't one of the Sony guys just get SNK to put that on there or something? Is it really that hard? I heard the Dave Lang podcast discussion too and it just doesn't make sense since the work has been done for the PS3 to emulate those games already.

I listened to Bombin' in the AM, so I knew it was coming. Somehow that didn't diminish the magic IN THE LEAST.

It's Hulk Hogan's WWE/F entrance theme "Real American."

@theedangle You got that SILVER membership, hit up all the episodes of Power Bombcast and FIND OUT!

Jeff's surprisingly candid reaction to Patrick's answer about having a shitty 2 years

Edited by WolfHazard

@berterbertez: just saying regardless of how you stumble over your words it takes a ton if courage to do that and I don't know why you asked as I didn't o back to rewatch but I didn't cringe at a single question that was asked this year. Also you had a hard act to follow the crash jacket guy had me cracking up lol

Posted by Mezmero

This was a fantastic panel. So many parts where I found myself cracking up with laughter. And that ending segment was one of the most amazing things Giant Bomb has ever been a part of. I retain the notion that Jeff Green is one of the greatest dudes on the planet. Though he's not The Lord of the Rings. Thanks to Giant Bomb for everything you guys do. Ryan would approve of this I know it.

I think this joke has gone recursive. The joke is that people always ask if people are booing him.
