Can't wait.

PlanetSide was such an amazing game, especially for its time, and I'm glad to see that it is finally getting the spotlight it deserved all those years ago with the amazing progress and unheard of level of community interaction that is going into the development of this sequel.

As someone who watched the original game be developed and played since beta, I can't wait to get back into the fight as soon as SOE deems I am allowed.

Used to hack the heck out of those bozos as Vanu Infiltrator. Back in the day you could have clipped your hacking tool inside the command console while cloaked and they wouldn't even see the red laser beam while you hacked away. Good times.

I was a Terran Heavy back in the day. Wouldn't mind those days coming back.

Just signed up for the beta today. Too bad I have never played the original Planetside.

God, if there was ever a game I would trade all the other games for in the world of play, it would be Planetside 2. I really hope SOE takes away what they did wrong and what they did right in Planetside 1 and makes this one hell of a contender in the MMO and FPS market.

Here's to hoping, and I'll be playing regardless of the outcome. Curious to see how the F2P model works, if that is still the case.

Signed up for the Beta today. My buddy got me into this, I've never played the first one but excited nontheless.

Hmm. I wonder if there's more specialized vehicles per side now, since they showed the mosquito for the TR and the reaver for NC. Maybe I'm just overthinking it.

But if I can't drive a purple bus with a huge amount of guns on it I'm going to get upset.

Looks awesome :) Don't know if my rig will be able to handle 200+ character models all looking that good on screen but we shall see ;)

There are still a large staple of non-specific vehicles in the game. However, they are supposed to have more specialized vehicles this time around instead of just a tank here and a jeep there. I don't know about the mosq and the reaver specifically but they will have more specific faction vehicles this time around.

As much as I would like to think this could end up good, I can't. As soon as I see that "SoE" logo on ANYTHING it's fate is sealed. They will, without fail, find SOME way to fuck it up. Even if it started out as game of the year, they will do SOMETHING to turn it into a money sucking trash-heap by the end of the first year or so.

I never played the first game. I had a 56k modem to connect to the Internet when the first game was released. But I want to give this one a fair shake. I did the whole beta signup dance after watching this video.

F2P, if that's the route this game is still going, worries me. I'm already seeing the pay-gates in the Tribes Ascend beta, and that game isn't an MMO. This one is, right? And maybe this one will be the game to pull it off, but I've yet to see Free 2 Play, MMO, and Competitive mesh well together in a game.

Well what they are showing now, looks more like a beautification patch for Planetside, nothing new at all. If this will be Planetside 1 with a new engine, I'm out. Planetside was enormous fun, but there needs to be something more to get me back into that game....
