Final Fantasy Agito Is Actually a Thing Now

At last, the Final Fantasy game everyone's been clamoring for.

So...Final Fantasy Agito XIII is announced, then renamed and released as Final Fantasy Type-0. Now we have Final Fantasy Agito. What is going on?!

Putting it on a phone i a huge fucking waste. What the hell is Capcom thinking of lately?

And this is a prequel to Type-0. Figure that out.

I wonder if this was just some random other project they had in mind and wanted to kill speculation about the name Agito, so they called this that.

Bring the first one to the west as a Vita download.

So is Type-0 ever even coming out on Vita? or is it going to be lame ass phone game also.

A phone game? I didn't need more reasons to not care about Final Fantasy.

I would gladly purchase a phone version if it meant the game got an English localization. I hear it is very good.

I don't understand why a phone gme and not a 3DS/Vita game? Are phone games honestly popular in Japan that aren't IoS Angry Birds or Temple Run?

I don't know, but Capcom should really stop telling SquareEnix what to do with Final Fantasy. Capcom, fucking up Final Fantasy again. Next thing you know they'll take a giant shit with the next Legend of Zelda. Why do they keep on making games for franchises they do not own?

Well, either way, it's not really a big concern that people should be upset about. Square Enix produces games for a variety of platforms. That they make cell phone games in addition to consoles and traditional handhelds shouldn't be viewed as a problem.

An understandable annoyance.

It's no different than any other platform exclusive. If it were coming to the Wii U instead, people would complain that it's not on the 360 or PS3.

@nekroskop: Well, I believe what Square is thinking is that mobile phones are where Japanese gamers play almost all of their games these days, so it only makes sense from a business standpoint to release their games there. I love consoles and dedicated gaming devices as much as anyone - and I loathe playing games on my phone - but Square isn't selling this game to me or to you. They are selling it to a market that loves this shit. How can you fault them for that?

Historically they have never released these overseas, anyway. Today's mobile landscape is different, though.

Japan is phone game crazy. Yes, we'd all like to believe that they'd stay true to tradition and keep playing consoles and handhelds, but apparently "Fuck no, we gotta get them apps", just like the rest of the developed world.

But...but...why would I buy this when I can get FFV for $20 on mobile?
