  • Turambar replied to the topic Anyone wanna trade? in the Demon's Souls board.
@msdss: The morion blade is crafted.  The 4-2 sword is the makoto which steadily decreases your hp when equipped, making going into hyper mode much easier.  Also, you can always go get PBWT in 2-x, and farm the tunnel full of trolls in the beginning of 2-2.  As for Biorr's armor, you can get it if you get PBWT or PBBT in 1-x, and enter the side door at the ...

  • Turambar replied to the topic World / Player Tendencies in the Demon's Souls board.
Player tendency is easy.  Either kill a bunch of black phantoms, or invade a bunch of guys as a black phantom.  As for world tendencies, for pure black, die in body form.  pure white is a bit more difficult, but can be done most easily from starting at pure black, killing the primeval demon, the black phantom npc of that stage, and then killing one more boss.  Note, for world ...

Sten easily later on in the game.  A champion's war cry is always a welcomed addition.

  • Turambar replied to the topic Dragon in 1-5 in the Demon's Souls board.
It's 1-4.  Have the clever rat ring and the morrian blade if you have if with you to boost your attack.  Get a sticky compound longbow and just keep shooting him.  I was melee as well and just with the atk bonus from the ring and +4 bow, I took him down with about 150ish heavy arrows.  When trying to get past him on the stairs, make sure to have ...

  • The "final boss fight" is a bit of a gimmick.  Don't worry about it.

  • I don't quite know how, but I glitched the dwarves at my camp site and reset hits shop 3 times, meaning 3 bags from him.  But more importantly, 3 gold rope necklaces for Morrigan.  Sadly, all the alcohol I sold to him to hold for me went bye bye.

  • Raidou Kuzunoha since he that was the name used in the manual.  Sadly, the MC lacks the epic side burns to be truly worthy of the name.

  • I know it's probably just me, but Persona 4 has a storyline that I wouldn't mind going back to over and over again.  The dialogue is just great almost all around, and I wouldn't mind going back for a 5th play through if I had the time.

Morrigan for Claudia Black.  Duncan Idaho for sheer awesomeness.  And lastly a tie between Alistair and Leliana for most interesting character.

  • Turambar replied to the topic Demon's Souls or Dragon age? in the Demon's Souls board.
@End_Boss: Ironically, I actually had a lot more trouble with DAO than Demon's Souls, haha.  As far as presentation goes, I think DAO presents lore extremely well (still haven't had to time to read through all the codexes yet) while Demon's Souls does atmosphere far better.

I personally prefer Demon's Soul more.  I'm enjoying DAO, certainly, but its style of combat has never quite been my thing.

  • Turambar replied to the topic Two-Handers vs Dual Wielding in the Dragon Age: Origins board.
@Galbrezu: Any one-handed weapon can go in your main hand.  Your off hand has to be a dagger unless you have the "dual-wielding mastery" skill at which time it can be converted into anything as well.

  • Turambar replied to the topic Dark Fantasy in the Dragon Age: Origins board.
My issue was the presentation of those supposedly "dark" scenes weren't done to invoke it for me.  Sure, I have the option to kill the demon possesed kid, but so what?  The presentation of the choice offers none of the dread.  At the end of Anvil of the Void though, the atmosphere, and presentation was what made it for me.

  • Turambar replied to the topic Dark Fantasy in the Dragon Age: Origins board.
The game was lauded for taking a dark fantasy tone as we began to hear of it.  Playing through it, for the most part, I wasn't all that impressed.  Enslaved elves aren't anything new, and neither is some fear of magic, nor the political intrigue.  Their presentation wasn't all too impressive either (and seeing the name Andruil made me laugh every time).    Then I got to the end of the ...

To put bluntly, many simply don’t “get” moe.  This isn’t meant as a negative statement.  This isn’t a condemnation of those that don’t appreciate it, but rather an observation that the term, and what it means, seem to act as an ever existing puzzle to many, and acts as some invisible barrier between east and west.  However, the core concept of moe is actually very easy to understand, and here I will attempt to demonstrate it in as simple a way as possible.

Before we begin, there is one requirement: be willing to accept that the range of characteristics that attracts one to a character is not restricted to just what you set before yourself.  Good to go?  Alright, lets start.

Step 1. Imagine a character that you’re attracted to.  It doesn’t matter if it’s from an eastern or western game, animation, or manga/comic.  Simply be attracted to him or her.

Step2. Determine the some of the characteristics that  causes this attraction, whether they be physical traits, or personality traits, what have you.

Done?  You have just understood the concept behind moe.  Are you surprised at how simple that was?  Moe is at it’s base no different than your own attraction to a character.  It is an umbrella term that covers a certain set of attractive characteristics.  While they may be different from your basic TNA, the result is the same.  You don’t need to understand why some might find glasses attractive, or cat ears attractive.  Simply understand that they are for some, just as what attracts you to your character is true for you, and not for everyone else.

Suddenly moe isn’t so mysterious, is it?

Making my way through Uncharted 2. Great production values, but the controls / gameplay still feels a tad off.

Thinking about throwing in Assassin's Creed (the first one) to generate interest in the sequel... or at least try to. Worth finishing?
