Hey, It's the Vita TV

Did you use physical copies to test that stuff? Or would I be able to just insert my memory card with, say, Persona 4 Golden or Rayman Origins downloaded and play those games without a Japanese PSN account?

This is the Persona 4 Golden TV interface. I'm sure it does other things, but that's all I want from it.

Well... if it let you crawl inside your TV, that'd be alright too.

I don't have a Vita, so maybe that is where my lack of knowledge is, but why can't the remote play be tested? It requires that you login as well?

I can watch Netflix/hulu on my tv, computer, phone, iPad, etc. etc. anyway.

I might want to stream PS4 to another TV, but that requires another TV so I would probably just get a Vita for remote play and the ability to have a mobile device.

@budwyzer: They PS4 remote play app isn't available on the Vita TV yet, and might not be added until the PS4 launches in Japan in February.

That would be the only appeal to me, unless there are already better options out there.

But seriously, this thing is kinda like the Vita itself, great idea, great hardware execution, fills its niche perfectly, but hopefully people will care. The first week sales were pretty damn good for it, giving hope that the idea of it keeping Vita relevant in an era of 3DS juggernaut titles and smartphone revenue doubling in 2012 by hooking it to a TV could pay off. We'll see, we'll see.

My question is whether it supports PSP games and multiple controllers at once. I bought the PSP Power Stone collection after my Dreamcast died and would love to play some Power Stone...

I know ILM is gone, but remember when they would do office videos for mailbags? Doing them on Unprofessional Fridays is cool and all, but it's kind of shitty to restrict mailbags from users to just premium members. What if a non-premium member sends in something super nice!

@rejizzle: It supports PSP games. It also supports multiple controllers, but only for PS1 games. PSP games never had support for multiple players on a single console, so there's no way to simply add that.

i really wanna pick up one of these soon in hopes jeff is right once Sony announces western release they update it to allow NA games,i have so many JP vita games i wanna play!.

Once it comes out for the US and has DS4 support, I'll probably get one.

The thing is mainly about streaming (some) Vita games and PS4 games, so if you're not interested in that you'll probably don't care about the device itself. So you're not "missing something", you're just not the target audience for this thing.

It's a neat device, but I'm not the target audience either. I only own one TV and will probably never buy a Vita. But I can totally see the value for some people. I suspect it'll always be a niche device though.

I have nothing to play on this thing, but i still want it! Come on, look at it! It's all tiny and shiny and a little piece of cool electronics, who wouldn't want that!?
