That's right, have the girl talk about it so that all the little boys will buy it.

The main character's model looks pretty good, but the other characters look kinda strange. It looks like their heads are not the right shape or size for their bodies.

Just an observation. I am pretty excited to see this game.

The story seems very cool and right up my alley. Something is weird with the camera, though. Everything looks kind of flat?

They could use more colors.

Nevertheless, it can be a great game. Let's wait and see.

I played about half of the leak. Pretty psyched to see China. Hong Kong was the best part of the first game.

I really like that Mary lady

@Sin4profit: Dude, couldn't agree with you more. I have been salivating over this one for a little while and I pre-ordered the son of a bitch. Like Alpha Protocol, I may like it despite it's problems! Here's hoping!

You can tell who hasn't played the first game or was 4 when it came out because of how quickly they bring up the graphics not being better than perfect.

I don't even really care what the graphics look like, its the gameplay and the world/setting/narrative that I'm excited for.

At this point I'm not expecting Deus Ex 1.  I do expect something a little better than Invisible War which wasn't that bad, it just wasn't as great as the first game.

Haven't you heard, gold is worthless in the future so we pave of buildings, clothes and paths with it. In the future we use credits and lightsabers, oh and we have sucky ass medichlorians in our blood to wield the force.

Wait... What did I just say?! Please NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm not a praying man, in fact I'm an atheist, but if there's a god of videogames out there then I'm praying to it for everything that keeps this industry so vibrant and beautiful that this game is excellent.

Oh and if it turns out anything like Alpha Protocol I pray to the videogames god that it'll please be only like Alpha protocol in gameplay ideas and not the sucky ass gameplay in practice.

I mean people keep saying it's like Alpha Protocol over and over again, and I hated all 2 and a half hours of Alpha Protocol that I could stand to play of it, it just wasn't designed very well at all and as a consequence wasn't fun and felt like crap to control imo, but it's premise was very good in that trailer they released at the E3 of that year.

Please videogame god, make sure this game is excellent!

The story in the game looks fantastic. I like how deep they went (at least, it looks that way) with each augmentation corporation. The advertisement with the mechanical hand holding the baby is great - the devices are so precise, gentle, you can care for a new-born; and, augmented devices will be a natural part of this baby's life. I am in.

Looks like there just rendering the game at a higher resolution....  I was hoping they used the RE5 engine and improved the textures.  The game looks to close to the SD versions for me to buy it, not to mention I still haven't beaten my Wii copy (beat it already on the PS2).  But for anyone that hasn't already played this, its totally worth it.

@DoctorLazy: that is very true, though I can confidently say I enjoy the more simplistic games that have been coming out in the last few years. This game could go either way, but it definitely has a big alpha protocol feel too it, and the visuals are pretty bland.......

And yet there are still plenty of people who like riding horses. Sometimes its the journey that counts, not getting from A to B the fastest and easiest way possible. I for one am more then happy to give up on few modern conventions, as you know, they kind of utterly failed to match up with Deus Ex.

When she emphasized investigation I realized this could be my new Metroid Prime, where I take the time to look at stuff and feel all detective-y. As long as what they said about you being able to turn off the highlighter stuff is true, I think I might like this. I just hope it lets you explore and not just go down a few optimal routes. Or, I hope it's really fun to play. Either one's fine.

If it provides an experience akin to Alpha Protocol, then I will happily overlook any design flaws.

All I ask is that it immerses me and I have an enjoyable experience. It won't be as groundbreaking as the first, by design (they're basically emulating that game with a modern engine), but if it is intriguing/well-written and makes me feel like part of the world, I'll consider it a success.

If not, there's always Prey 2.

I just do not like the look or the simplistic game play. The game looks clunky and dated from the color palette choices to the way the avatar navigates the world.

"I need to get up on this box that is waist high, but I can climb on to it"

"Oh, look a smaller box conveniently placed and highlighted on the ground"

[Move smaller box next to bigger box]

"Oh, NOW I can get up on a box any normal human being could have climbed on without assistance and a super augmented human should have hopped up on with ease, but because this game is rooted in game play mechanics from 1998 the process of doing ANYTHING is a highlight ---> button press ---> drag and drop affaire.”

Sorry, folks this game and its world make no sense, because the game mechanics are from a bygone era when charcters could run, jump, climb, slide, and crawl using a modern joypad. Eidos Montréal seemly wants to be the last buggy whip manufacture in the era of cars. They want to use game mechanics that better, smarter, and more ambitious game makers have abandoned for more thoughful designs a decade ago.

You are talking about the very first mission. They also showed that in a gameplay video. It is normal that they let you take it easy in the beginning, right. Alot of games let you start by jumping, crouching etc just to show how interacting/ moving in the world works.
Deconstruction of minor gameplay elements is not a good way to argument a game is bad (shooting is pressing a button in most fps, does that make every fps boring and something you have already seen before?)

It is so easy to come up with arguments and start nitpicking. I've played the leaked version and yes, it is not the godlike game that deus ex was. But at the time, deus ex was new and had gameplay you (or at least I) never saw before. And as a sequel, it has to build onto it not reinvent everything because it has got to be better, bigger and more original.

A big thing in the original, for me, was the story and being able to manipulate it by interacting in the world/ characters (I was surprised to see my brother at a certain point in the game)

If human revolution has some of that I am a happy man. I didnt see that in the leaked version because I only played through it once (lets not spoil it to much for ourselves eh)

Don't understand the hate for this game, seems to stem from a growing idea that taking cover and stealth kills are a bad thing.

I love those basic mechanics and they seem to work well enough here on top of everything else, looking forward to this.

I've heard positive things about the leaked demo. Sure there's some weird face/body proportions, but if that's the reason you're put off by the game, that's too bad.

I have a lot of hope for this game... I worry I'm going to be disappointed though. Deus Ex original is such an incredible game, it really deserves a sequel that can stand alongside it, rather than beneath it like Invisible War did.

How the fuck can anybody really hear anything truly bottom line definitive about this game? I'm getting to be a believer in that 'opinion' thing again. It has it's place where it rings true. For myself, very high hopes that are tempered. Positive thoughts.

I played a little bit of the beta - not too much as I didn't want to spoil it for myself - and I absolutely loved it. How anyone could have anything truly bad to say about the game is completely beyond me. Extrapolating what I played in the beta to the full version has me convinced that this will be an incredible and memorable gaming experience.

@Artie: I also heard negative things from the Weekend Confirmed Podcast when a guy demoed it. Which kills me because a few podcasts before that one it seemed like they had a lot of positive things to say about it.

It's getting real mixed messages, though...some say they want the old style gameplay, others say the old style gameplay is what makes it feel dated. So there's really no telling. I'd image reviews of it will be fairly mixed as well and it'll all come down to personal tastes.
