Mario Kart's Weird Mercedes-Benz DLC Arrives on August 27

@luciddreams117: You dislike the car customization because it's there or because you have to go through it? For every fresh boot of the game, the parts default to the standard kart so people can just button through that quickly. However, that sounds like it will change in the next patch as there's a note that the last customization will be saved.

Anyway, seeing how stupid and cute the Mercedes cars look is making me want to see other cars get similar treatment.

So weird that all the ads for this are fronted by the Mercedes GLA, since it's not a halo products, and nothing like the kind of sportier models that would actually make sense in a Mario Kart game.

They didnt included their actual super/hyper car the SLR?

Would not be surprised to start seeing a trend of kids throwing banana peels and such at Mercedes-Benz vehicles.

Yeah... for a Mario Kart I already dislike because of the car customization, and non pick up and play attitude, I don't think ill play this.

Mario sold his soul to a German devil. Still i always thought Mario was more of a Fiat guy then a Mercedes one.

The DLC is also coming with game updates, like the ability to display the map on the TV.

From an ad sense, what are Mercedes Benz thinking? How many people who play Mario Kart on the Wii U will be inspired to go and buy a Mercedes Benz? Two or maybe even three? I wonder what kind of skulduggery Nintendo did to convince them that the Wii U has a huge consumer base. Or maybe an exec at Mercedes loves Mario Kart...

Whatever, this is the kind of dumb thing I love. The W25 Silver Arrow looks pretty cool, and it looks like the car from Monopoly.

I hope this Mercedes dlc for Mario Kart inspires more people to jump their luxury vehicles off ramps. Fuuuuucking crazy.

• How did this deal go down?
• Who paid who?
• Did no one get paid at all?
• Did Nintendo have to demo the car models before Mercedes signed-off on this?
• Has Nintendo ever done a "real-world" brand cross-promotion before?
• How do the Mario Kart purists feel about this?
• How many years will it be before this looks extremely ridiculous and dated?
• How do the Mario Kart designers, producers, and product leads feel about this?

The only words that actually came out of my mouth:

"This is fucked up"

Glad that the West is getting this crazy DLC, but I was hoping the trailer could tease new courses and new characters for DLC.

I'll give them as much money as they want for new tracks.

New cars are fine, but what I really want are some more tracks.

Ideally I would want Bowser's sick cadillac from Super Mario 3D World. The badwagon gets close but it's not the same.
