Metal Gear Solid V or The Phantom Pain or Whatever They'll Eventually Call It: Debut Trailer

Why even try to mask the identity of the game? That mullet is so well known, it isn't like people would have been fooled anyway.

That fake arm reminded me of Buster from Arrested Development. Made me laugh, which I guess wasn't really the point of the trailer

I'm looking forward to controlling Big Bosses severed left arm as it creeps through vents, dropping on sentries and gouging out their eyes.

this is as much a trailer for metal gear as that is for bulletstorm.

Not saying it's not related but viral marketing for something is not the same as a trailer. Therefore it is not a trailer for metal gear.

Is it just me or does it seem like the bit of VO at the end gets cut off? I'm not just talking about this version on giantbomb, but this same trailer on every site I've seen does it. What gives?

I love me some Metal Gear, but that looks really fucking bad. Hopefully it's all just a pre-announcement marketing hype for MGSV. We do need more info before jumping to conclusions. Like, how is Kojima and his team making two MGS games. Unless...Kojima's Swedish twin brother is in charge of this one...

This is awesome because it is really cool and interesting even if it isn't Metal Gear related. You don't have to like his games, but no one can deny Kojima's ability to pull off twists like this in an era when true surprises in video games are all but extinct.

They seem like they will be different parts of the same game. Likely that there is no Ground Zeroes and we were being strung along. It's all MGS5. Kojima cray.

so this shows "Metal Gear Solid V" and at the very end of the trailer, a voice says, "V has come to," (referring to the guy waking up at the beginning) which leads me to believe that the "V" shown in the hidden title is the letter V and not the roman numeral for 5. V for Vita?

Also, there's been a theory going around that Ground Zeroes and The Phantom Pain might actually be chapter names in MGS5, which actually seems like it would make a whole lot of sense. And yes I do know that Kojima has been talking about stuff like there's gonna be seperate games, but I wouldn't put past him to just be fucking with everyone about it.

Regardless of what this ends up being, I think it looks rad!

Of course this is Metal Gear Solid. Why would they show a Reveal Trailer at the VGA for a game by a company no one's ever heard of? That's so fucking stupid they should fire whoever came up with this idea. Though most likely it was Kojima.
