I don't care what anyone says, the whole marketing campaign has been Terminator themed. From the whole bass line to the blue themed visuals and videos. It's terminator, not so much an "original" theme remixed. The whole style is terminator, until you get to the actual gameplay footage. "
I guess I've just played a lot f Battlefield, but even after watching that Terminator trailer, I still get more of the Battlefield theme out of this. I also don't really care if they took inspiration from Terminator, because they are executing on the style very well. 
 
Anyways, the computer graphics nerd in me is loving everything I see here. I say nerd rather than graphics whore, because I don't generally judge games based on their graphics, but I'm a programmer that works with graphics and rendering, so I have considerable appreciation for what they've accomplished.

This is what have you all pumped up? Oh man lets play the another "realistic" shooter , with no freedom whatsoever and just a conglomerate of scripted moments ..... I hope I am mistaken but so far this seems just like any other shooter out there nowadays , and yes the ghrapix are cool and all but that aint enough for me to get me excited.

OMG! 2min of scripting. Better cancel the whole fucking game because that shit will be DOA. 
Just because its scripted doesn't make it bad. If you run around like in other FPSs in a situation like that then you'll end up one head shorter. Scripting is neccesary to make awesome stuff like happen. Thats why games like Halo or Half-Life don't have big set piece moments since they rely on AI instead of scripting. 
And don't be an asshole the "player" is actually a guy playing the game(has been said everywhere including GiantBomb, why else do you think Jeff built a super PC). This isn't Killzone 2 marketing. Thats an actual game running on an actual engine.

uhhhh, because its supposed to be suspenseful. you aren't just some super soldier guy who can kill 1000 dudes no problem. if you don't like it stick to call of duty or something.

The point is that a scripted scene ISN'T suspenseful, CoD has lots of examples demonstrating that. Go back to CoD? This looks like something like CoD which is why I had a negative reaction.

I see what they meant by the serious graphical fidelity.
 
Also, what happened to the T rating of this series? Bad Company 2 changed that I guess, and Modern Warfare made that a standard for these shooters, but...seriously. It has a broader audience with a T. Just sayin'.

It gives it a lot more realism. When in a war zone you can't just go out guns blazing on your own COD style. 
Of course this isn't meant to be a simulator or anything but what's wrong with a little added realism to a genre that's overly saturated with COD-like campaign experiences.

Wow, that's pretty cool and strange, they fixed the arabic sign that says Hotel in this version. Last time I saw this the arabic letters were all messed up.
 
I guess someone is doing something right over there, quality control and everything.

@sofacitysweetheart: correct me if I'm wrong but...didn't Battlefield 2 come out before Call of Duty 4? And wasn't it also a pretty massive success? So wouldn't it be logical to keep to that strategy since A) BF2 was amazing and B) it would finally bring worthy competition to a genre too long held down by Call of Duty? Also if anything, Call of Duty should be held to the standards of BF2, not the reverse.

So people keep telling me, but the way these Battlefield games are being marketed, it's as if they didn't have any confidence in it. It's as if they're afraid that the majority have moved on past Battlefield...

To everyone whining about the scripting, I can happily inform you that Swedish PC Gamer also confirmed it has QTEs! *facepalm* 
  
But it looks good, hopefully the multiplayer will be BF1942 levels of hilarity and awesomeness, and maybe the singleplayer campaign will keep me entertained when I don't feel like bombing stuff in a plane, yet again.
