Price point's a bit higher than I would have liked, but I've dabbled with it a bit. It's pretty bitchin'.

Posted by CookieMonster

They should have just bought the rights to the cat mario series and put it out.

Posted by weegieanawrench

aww man, WiiU eshop only.

Seems pretty cool, Nintendo starting to win me over on the Wii U. Shame I'm broke :D

Edited by JimiPeppr

So it's challenge levels for NES games? Seems pretty cool.

Posted by Mijati

We totally need a quick look of this. Looks pretty fun.

Does Nintendo even *need* to buy any rights to Cat Mario?

But seriously, I hope NES Remix just becomes Cat Mario at some point.

Posted by Video_Game_King

Nintendo's reaallly making me want a Wii U today.

Posted by Fat_Tomato

So is this like an NES-themed WarioWare with more long form minigames?

Cause that does sound pretty cool! Just wish it was on the 3DS too...

Posted by StentorTaxolotl

Oh man a quick look of this would be sweet.

Edited by freakin9

Really smart move by Nintendo. Depending on the scope of what they do this could be the biggest system seller.

Posted by AngriGhandi

I can get down with this, for sure!

What a neat idea.

Edited by noizy

Oh god, Ice Climber. That game made me rage at times.

I'm tempted to play some old NES games now.

Posted by RobertOrri

A full-on 8-bit WarioWare game without Wario in it. Huh.

Posted by Aleryn

Looks fun... oh damn, Wii U only.

You get specific challenges per game and then every 10 stars you get a Remix challenge. So for example in Excitebike you'll be asked to do a wheelie for 3 seconds, then get to the finish without crashing while doing wheelies, then the same again but on a trickier course. You get graded between 1-3 stars (if you do well the stars get a rainbow highlight around them) and "bits" which accumulate and unlock stamps. The remix challenges play around with the mechanics in the classic games. For example, turning a short Mario stage into an endless-runner thing where you must time precision jumps to dodge Cheep Cheeps, or a stage in Donkey Kong where you only have a limited radius of visibility around Mario.

It's pretty fucking cool.

This looks fantastic. If it plays anything like WarioWare, where you're knocking out those challenges in rapid succession, I want it. Too bad it's a Wii U thing, this seems like the perfect fit for the 3DS.

Also, people are complaining about $15? That seems like a completely acceptable price point for this.

Posted by ArbitraryWater

This is a game consisting entirely of the best part of any given Warioware title. Sold.

Posted by salvodelli

There needs to be a Gary Whitta challenge where you have to shoot that guy.

Posted by redefaulted

Wow. Very cool.

Posted by Isomac

I bought this right away. I can't wait to check it out later today!

Posted by LarryDavis

Haggar is number one you idiot.

Posted by BaconGames

This feels like someone somewhere inside Nintendo won the argument finally. I can't imagine this is a new idea internally but I'm glad they're finally getting into this kind of stuff more. Before the only avenue for this stuff was 9Volt's levels in WarioWare, which were always some of the best in those games.

Stoked.

Posted by cloudymusic

This is actually a really cool and original way to capitalize on nostalgia while still doing something different. If I had a Wii U, I'd be all over this.

@tireyo: $15 is pretty steep. Any idea how long it is?

Posted by Sessh

Any reason why this is only on Wii U and not the 3DS?

They should have just bought the rights to the cat mario series and put it out.

Don't forget Somari!

Posted by thatdutchguy

YES !

Dope, something good on the ol' eShop.

Posted by Icicle7x3

I'll get this when I get a WiiU.

Edited by jeffrud

If I wasn't dead set on buying SM3DW next week, I'd already own this. Holy shit.

Ask @jjor64, as I seen that he has the game on Miiverse.

The best answer I can give you is that knowing classic games are, I would say that the time varies because of how much those games can hold your attention.

Edited by Nictel

Give the person who thought of this a raise!

Posted by TheHT

Oh man, keep this up and I will buy a Wii U.

Posted by MeatSim

Another hot eShop game. If only there was a podcast to inform people of such games.

Edited by logan3

Quick Look!

Posted by Spoonman671

This is pretty cool looking. I don't know if I'd invest much time in it, but I'm sure there are people who will eat this up.

If anyone has listened to the latest bombacast, doesn't this sound kinda like a nintendo version of the "atari-oware" game Vinny was talking about? this looks great, and now makes me want this and the game Vinny wanted

I WANT ALL OF THE THINGS.

Posted by UltimAXE

This seems like the perfect portable game. Why did they go WiiU instead of 3DS?

Posted by forteexe21

9volt is the best part of Warioware so this is already better than those games. And those games are amazing already.

Posted by Accolade

Why is this for Wii U and not also for 3DS?

Posted by IronScimitar

YOU'RE BEGINNING TO UNDERSTAND, NINTENDO. FINALLY.
