Pokemon designs look lame as hell, but there seemed to be some crazy connectivity with some sort of pokemon website which makes me squeal with excitement, so it's okay.

TRIPLE BATTLES!?!? What's next for Pokemon? 25 man raids? Killing some kind of super legendary Pokemon for some extremely low drop rate loots?
 
Well, I'll admit, the trailer looks cool, but the new Pokemon, well, it seems they just look uglier with each generation. 
 
HEY GAMEFREAK. Do us long time fans a favor and stop making new Pokemans. Instead, try focusing on better gameplay and improving other aspects of this old franchise.

I know its not going to happen. I frankly wasn't even being serious - I thought the 'surely' would have given that one away. However, a quick look of some of the new features would be nice.

Because it's time to release the annual MADDEN of virtual pet fighting games. Need more money from -suckers- ...Err- I mean kids/people who still get excited by pokemans.
 
Keep all the old stuff, throw in some stuff that won't change the formula into something different, release. Grow giant dollar signs for eyeballs.
 
Won't be buying unless I see at least ~14 new pokemon I genuinely like amoung the ~75 complete rejects they create every pokemon generation.
 
Where the hell is a toucan pokemon? Isn't it like obvious? We already have like 3-4 variations on pidgey.

My list of stuff Pokemon has to do for me to buy it again is large, and pretty much guarantees I'll never buy a new one:
- Removal of "Genetics" (IVs or whatever you want to call them).
- Removal of breeding and the addition of a far easier way to configure your movesets.
- Removal of moves that turn matches into dice rolls (Accuracy debuffs, etc.)

3? come on pretty much all JRPGs have 4 on X battles... The design of Pokémon still hasn't changed and it's still an excuse to grind... I wonder if they will ever let you pick any other elements than the classic 3 too...

Sorry, but that would rip out a lot of what the game is. Those are only subsystems that can be ignored. It's almost like saying you'd enjoy GTA more if there were no shooting and/or driving.

Yeah thanks, genius, I'm well aware that removing aspects of a game is, in fact, exactly that.
 
Your analogy is ridiculous. Here's a more apt one: removing IVs/genetics from Pokemon would be like adding button customization to GTA, as both involve ignoring what scrubby players like you think is sound game design in favor of focusing on the actual meat of the game.

I think we are finally getting a Dark Gym. :D
I am more excited for this game that I ever was for IV Gen.  For some reason I really like the staters and other pokemon much more thing time around. And we finally get a Dark/Ground type and a Fire/Dragon type.
Guys the 3 v 3 battle thing isn't really a big deal. Double battles aren't used too much and I don't feel 3 v 3 will be used to much either.  
Time to keep training my all Dark Team.

The new Pokemon look worse and worse with each new game, but... it's still POKEMON. ME WANTS.

 Why would you want to remove exactly what hardcore fans of  Pokémon love? All three of those things are important to the core of what Pokémon is to most fans. 

-The IVs and EVs separate the boys from the men. That's just high-level stuff that if you don't want to worry about, you don't have to. It's there for those who want to go the extra mile. 
- Breeding allows you to breed the ultimate fighter/tool. You are able to choose the right parents with the right move combinations and stats to create the perfect champion. It's purely optional, though! Why worry about it if you don't like it?
-The moves that "turn matches into dice rolls" are exactly that! It's a freaking JRPG! Of course there's going to be an element of randomness! The moves that lower and raise accuracy/evasiveness are to play the odds. Accuracy and evasiveness are always in play, even without being manipulated by the player/AI.
 
Removing these things would be a step BACKWARDS for Pokémon. It may simplify it, but it would also change the game too much for it to really be a true Pokémon game. And, perhaps YOU might like it, but a large number of other people would drop it immediately. 
The point of a sequel is to add NEW features and IMPROVE old ones, not remove them. If the series were younger, I might agree with you more. Mass Effect to Mass Effect 2 was a GREAT change. But there was only one game before 2. There's too much history to change without losing a large part of your fanbase in a long-running series like Pokémon. 
People got super pissed when they did the great Damage Category shift in Generation IV, and that was only a small change in the mechanics. How do you think fans would react to such a massive shift like the one you want?
 
(Although an easier way manipulate movesets, perhaps more types of/more plentiful TMs, would be nice. I agree with you on that one.)

Is anyone else not liking the design for this game? I'm not necessarily opposed to it, just don't like it. Also, the character design for the girl is terrible! Really don't like that.
