They've been talking about this game for so long, it will be nice to see what it's actually all about. It's been too long since I've played a good skating game, so hopefully this will fit the bill.

Posted by TehPickle

I got this on Vita and ended up liking it much less than I thought I would. I just didn't have the patience in the end.

Posted by TekZero

It's on gog.com now too..

Hey man I'm Vinny Caravella. I'm just hangin' out in NYC just shreddin' it up, just doin' whateve-

OH NO!

Spinning class!

@alex Does this game have keyboard/mouse controls? If so, (how) do they work?

Posted by AlwaysBeClothing

When Jeff was streaming this was a game I thought looked rad. So I ended up getting it a few months later when I bought a Vita. Let's go Boardin' brohams, TUBULAR!

Posted by sub_o

I really like this game on Vita, until the last few stages (and many of the pro stages) which are just way too difficult.

Between Tony Hawk and Skate OlliOlli does a pretty good job filling in my skateboarding video game niche. This is a really good arcade skate boarding game that has a replayability akin to something like Hotline Miami.

Posted by TurboMan

This is probably one of my favorite games that has come out so far this year. Hopefully it gets a second life on PC.

Posted by Astroduck

Tony Hawk controls are so ingrained in my brain I really struggled with the first hour or so of the Vita version. Triangle is not grind...

That Spin class thing had me in tears.

Spin class sounds dizzying.

I really enjoyed it all through the Pro levels, but Rad Mode was excruciating and ended up breaking my patience as well. I still go back to it for quick play sessions on easier modes though. It's a solid game. Sad they didn't fix that crash until after I unlocked all but the Rad Mode trophy.

I love how I yelled "You're a skater Harry!" 10 seconds before Vinny did.

OlliOlli rules. But those daily challenges are the most stressful game experiences since hitting the button to find a Starcraft II match.

Edited by Qjt

It's like a remastering of the Skate mobile game.

Very awesome.

I'm so excited this has hit PC! Played it loooads on a friends Vita and it almost pushed me to buy one. Now I don't have to - hehehe. This game is great!

also I bet child Vinny RIPPED on the board.

@mortal_sb: I am currently Vita-less, so I'm glad it is coming out on PC. Looks like a fun "I've got 30 minutes today to play games and I don't want anything heavy" game to invest in.

@alex Alien Workshop

When you skated, did you wear a helmet?

Posted by RazielCuts

Alex is so used to seeing garbage after reviewing many a shitty game he doesn't even see it anymore.

Edited by BoOzak

I dont know if Vinny was joking or not but I also thought spinning classes involved spinning around in circles with your arms held out (it seems like a dumb thing people would do!) ;(

My attempt to get into skate boarding went about as well also. (although olli'ing onto a rail caused the death of my board) I might try this, it wont fill that THPS void but it seems like the next best thing. Could never really get into the Skate series.

The game @Vinny was wondering about loading tricks was the snowboarding series, Amped.

Posted by Doomed

Does anyone know what the movie was?

Edited by monkeystick

See you at the spin class Vinny!

Edited by kid_gloves

@pdxsonic: Far more likely @vinny was talking about the SSX series since he also said "tricky".

Edited by Flappy

Spent a lot of time playing this on the Vita. Good times...

I would like to throw my hat into the ring of people who didn't know what a spin class was. I thought it involved a pottery wheel.

Also I had a ton of fun with this game.

Edited by EthanielRain

First time I heard someone say "spin class" I pictured them spinning yarn on a loom or some such thing.

Edited by Whampire

Here's the movie that I presume Alex was talking about.

Edited by Mister_Snig

I would love for Vinny to teach a spin class.

I mean like, real spinning. Not that stationary bike shit.

Posted by Accolade

Urge to buy Vita...dropping.

Posted by spaghet3

Wow, I can't believe Vinny used to be able to do an upside-down Willis-kickflip...

Posted by Grillbar

wait aint the title spelled wrong?
i mean if we are talking skateboard is it not spelled ollie
and olli is olli olli oxen free.
please someone correct or clarify this for me.

Edited by synthesis_landale

@whampire: That was crazier than I expected, even from Alex's description... Part of me wants to see it, the other part tells me I have so many better movies I haven't seen but the first voice keeps telling the latter to STFU. I hope @alex is right that it never came out but I don't want to look for it just in case it has...

That was my thought as well. I wouldn't associate stationary biking with either "spinning" or a "class"; spinning is definitely more of a weaver term (which would also necessitate a "class" much more).

The Hogwarts for skaters sounds interesting but how was the Hogwarts for video production?

Where do I sign up?!?

Edited by MATATAT

If Vinny spinning was like the Dougie I would say teach me how to Vinny.

Edited by TheMathlete

I'm totally with Vinny on that. I had no idea what spin class was.

Holy crap, I thought my town was the only one with a "suicide hill". The more you know.

Edited by cthomer5000

This was all worth it for Machotaildrop, which is the movie he was talking about. It's on youtube in it's entirety

Posted by KingOfCrows

For years I thought spin class was for making pottery. They spin the clay on the table thing and make the pots.

Posted by Briggs713

lol can confirm a "Suicide Hill" by the high school in my home town.

Posted by dOm_CaTz

I'm gonna go and get the papers, get the papers.

Posted by laxbro19

As someone who skates currently I cringe every time I see Alex ollie way to late or ollie off the rail. Only the gnarliest of bails start that way. I can under stand it if you want to shove out but going backside board slide to shove at that height is sheer madness. Just land it and skate away.

Posted by anbilow

@vinny Liked the extra scene at the end duder!

Edited by cooljammer00

Good Lord, California made @vinny real soft or something. Will he go to his spin class and ask women when they get out?

Gotta admit, I had no idea what spin class was too...

Also that Skateboarding Hogwarts movie Alex was talking about is called Machotaildrop and is fully watchable on Youtube. Looks kinda like a cut rate Wes Anderson movie of sorts.

Posted by SilverTorch1

Did Alex just say "cross"? Disgusting.

Posted by ocelotfox

A fantastic Quick Look from beginning to grand finale, thanks @vinny and @alex!
