Your beard is good. Your beard...its good.

Also this looks pretty awesome now that I can see it. I kinda want it now, haven't plugged the guitar in in a while.

Rock'n'Roll Vinny! Already picked this up because of the positive feedback on the bombcast!

I also had to switch to inverted display of the strings, since the thick E string on the bottom is also how all the tabs I learned on the Internet with are written.

I wonder why they changed it for the default, does it seem so weird for new guitar players...?

I'd love to play Mario Teaches Shredding.

Possibly the most noisy, audibly obnoxious video on the site.

Posted by DarkbeatDK

I'd totally get a t-shirt with Super Ducks on it.

Posted by SamDrugbringer

Video is amazing just for seeing Vinny rock out.

Muse was in Guitar Hero 3, it had Knights of Cydonia

Posted by vegetashonor

Bombtastic??? No??? Anyone??? "Shame...

Posted by Morien

Has Jeff lost weight? If so, good for him!

Posted by Demoskinos

God vinny is awesome.

Posted by SexyRandal

@M3rlin: I've wondered that too. My guess is they're going for a perspective as if you were holding the guitar in front of you and the neck was clear, if that makes any sense. I think that might help some people, but I had to switch it almost immediately.

OH MAN, PERRY DID SUCH A GREAT JOB IN THIS QUICK LOOK!

Posted by wumbo3000

Can anyone tell me what chord Vinny played in the beginning? I want to learn the Quick Look Intro Theme chord!

Edited by HerbieBug

edit---

hang on... does this game have just regular tab display without showing the guitar neck and the rest of that bullshit? The way this UI is, I can't see it being helpful for anyone.

Vinny and the Vindogs 2011 Tour coming to a town near you!

Posted by 234r2we232

Jeff has obviously been working on his Matthew Bellamy voice.

Posted by M3rlin

@SexyRandal:You're probably right. So for beginners it might make more sense that way.

I actually played for 1 or 2 hours and thought something felt wrong. That's when I found the Invert feature; did so much better after the change!

Posted by Monkeyman04

I would get this in a heart beat if it had bass support.

Blad!!

Posted by Phished0ne

WHAT??? THIS GAME HAS THE ANIMALS?!?!?!?!?

Just gained 1000000000000000000 respect points from me. Plus it actually looks like a really good learning tool.

@Monkeyman04: They have said on their website (in the FAQ section) that Bass support will be DLC in the near future

I think it's Am7.

Looks awesome. Been playing seriously for 10 years, but I could still have fun with this. I'd love to find a demo station or something, though.

vinny guitar time a new recurring feature?

Posted by Sticky_Pennies

This gametoolthing actually looks really, really cool.

Posted by deerokus

Jeff and Vinny should form a band and call it Galaxian Jackin'.

Posted by gunstar

This game may have one of the best soundtracks of the rhythm genre.

The tracklist reveal turned me off this product entirely. The songs they have now aren't really my taste and they aren't challenging to play, if they fixed one of those two issues I'd be interested again. It seems odd to put out guitar practice/training software with only entry-level content.

As a guitar player who knows a thing or two about a string or two, even though I have no interest in touching this thing at all, I think it's really cool that it exists and that people are into it.

Edited by HerbieBug

Watching more now, I find this interface very hard to interpret. They should at least have the standard notation timing (if not the actual notes) running along the screen somewhere. This would be impossible to sight read for me. Is there any actual notation anywhere in the game or do you have to interpret everything from the guitar hero style scrolling majigger?

^ opinion of old man guitfiddler who can't understand how this is supposed to be easier than good old treble clef and quarter notes.

It's a great idea, I agree. I would have loved to have something like this when I first started. However, I can't help but think that the way they display the notes is too alien from the actual way music is written and read. It seems to me that neglecting to show basic notation is setting up people for a lot of confusion later on.

It totally is. Thanks for that. Stairway To Heaven utilizes that chord. Fitting.

This actually looks a whole lot cooler than I expected.

Edited by falling_fast

I might pick this up.

actual guitar lessons, or hell, lessons for anything, are more expensive than I can afford.

Posted by oldjack327

God I had no idea you could invert the strings so that they follow tab format. This suddenly makes everything make more sense. Thanks Vinny.

FREEEEBIIIIIIIIRD!! 0_0

okay I'm done. :D

Just looking at this game confuses me. I'm sure after playing and such it becomes easier, but that hud is just insane.

Posted by Zanetsu

I will be getting this whenever they actually release this in Europe. And for PC.

Posted by AV_Gamer

Now I can live out of dreams of being Jimi Hendrix. Viva PC version.

As an amateur (very amateur) guitar player, this looks awesome. Song selection seems surprisingly solid, and it looks like a valid practice tool. I think I'm gonna get this.

Edited by Laini

Really interested in this but not sure whether to add a pick up to my acoustic guitar or just get an electric one. The pick up would be cheaper and I can't play for crap anyway so if I don't stick with this it wouldn't be such a waste of money.

Also Muse's Uprising was in Guitar Hero Warriors of Rock or whatever it's called. I'm sure they were in another of the GH games too.

Posted by paulunga

Uhhh, Muse was in at least two Guitar Hero games.
