When I first started watching this video the game was almost too ugly and terrible for me to stand, but by the end it actually didnt seem that bad and my mind sorta tricked me into thinking it didnt look like complete and utter indistinguishable shit. That being said, when dave just sat there swinging the sword and missing like a 20 times in a row i just wanted to take the game and break it in half because its SOOO FRUSTRATING.

Just payed 64$ for a membership. Why? Because i care about Vinyy, Dave and PC-gaming.

This alone is worth $50

You can set the Audio Delay in your movie player of choice to 4300ms. In the Windows version of VLC you can use the J and K keys to set the delay.

@endless_void: why are you being mean when Wrighteous86 is right? 'Shit' you're talking about are the ADs. My guess is that people would rather pay than have ADs on the site. Also: it's not like $5 is real money, come on.

I fully support this Dave/Vinny venture. Money well-spent.

I don't really understand all the self-entitlement and negativity I'm seeing from community members. It's like a small-minded, poorly-worded revolution is unfolding before my very eyes. But if you really think about it, the loss of income due to the departure of non-paying users (many of them using Ad-block) may be offset by an influx of new subscribers looking to participate in a more mature community. Win-win. Those who leave get to be mad and self-righteous, those who stay get an amazing experience. Genius!

Daggerfall is super rough to go back to. Makes going back to Deus-Ex look like a cakewalk. That said, I still really love Daggerfall, buggy as hell, but wonderfully impressive. The spider and skeleton noises still give me the willies. Oh god, the slaughterfishes! :)

Also, once you're out of the tutorial dungeon, you should fast travel to your local temple of Dibella. :)

For one, it was recorded live, with a chat, so they are talking to and referencing the users that are watching while they play through it. For two, there's no indication that they'll be playing through the whole game. It has similarities with a Quick Look Throwback or an Endurance Run, but it feels pretty different.

Littering the site with ads goes against everything the site was created for, most people block ads so the site gets no revenue from them, and the kind of ads that wouldn't cause a huge uproar from the community wouldn't bring anywhere near as much revenue as subscribers do. This is the first piece of worthwhile content that you actually have to miss out on, and you're reacting like a child in a candy store. I'd rather listen to members complain that they've paid for a year and all they had to show for it was 3 Happy Hours a month until now. Get over it and get over yourself.

Oh, and "in the year of 2011", most sites are starting to split content or have "subscriber" sections. A lot of other game sites have been doing it for years, many news sites, etc. The internet is heading that way whether you like it or not. It's also not an Endurance Run at all. One of those is actually coming, and the implication is that it will be free for everyone. I'm sure that won't stop you from bitching, though.

Man, I keep trying to find time to watch this but I keep getting interrupted :D. Gonna try to watch it now.

Subscribers are helping the GB folks pay their bills and continue operating. I think that we do deserve a little bit more content for doing that (we don't want to feel like we're throwing our money away). This subscription thing has been going on for almost a year now and the most we've gotten is HD videos and Happy Hours. And now finally we get a exclusive video feature that's enjoyable to watch and the whole internet explodes and starts bitching.

@Overbite:  Its not  'entitlement'.   I worded things poorly, and explained myself better in the forums.  Its a problem of semantics. and it came too close to the Endurance Run announcement.   The problem is they DONT COMMUNICATE  these things with the non-subs.  So everyone sees the video and jumps to the conclusion that it could be the new endurance run, which would be shitty, because as i stated previously, THAT would be taking away new content.  The problem is that the subs  get all this inside info on what these videos even are.  The non-subs diddnt even know for the most part that this is just 'something they did goofing around for fun' because theres no communication, so everyone assumes the worst.  Comprende?

This was really great, the scope of Daggerfall is amazing but the minute-to-minute mechanics are horrid. Getting through the first dungeon on a dry run without reading a faq or anything is impressive! Also for archive's sake maybe re-upload the video with fixed audio sync and zoomed in a bit? Certainly not expecting some kinda post-production for a spontaneous live thing, but it doesn't present very well to people who missed it the first time.

sheesh...so much whining about this being subs-only. If you really want to watch it and want to support the best gaming site on the web then just shut up and fork over the $50! If you don't want to there are still plenty of hours of content you will have available. I wasn't a sub right away and I still enjoyed this site. Now that I am one I am glad that my $50 isn't just for Happy Hours. Hell I'd give $50 just so that this site can keep going on strong. Cannot believe how much of the GB community are a bunch of goddamn whiners!

@Beer: I see no problem with it at all. If people want to see it, they can pay the $5 a month. It's totally worth it and there is literally no excuse not to do it.
