Remedy Drops a New Trailer for Quantum Break

Wish it was all FMV, but it aint no Contradiction.

That's a really good looking Shawn Ashmore character model, gotta admit. Also, because I've never watched The Wire, my immediate TV/movie character association for Lance Reddick is the military guy from The Guest.

Cars don't explode when you fire rounds into the radiator/engine block. Stop doing this. That's all.

Was the original voice/actor always Shawn Ashmore or did someone get fucked over? Other than the facechange it was more of what they had already shown, albeit more chaotic.

When was this originally announced? Feels like 3 years.

I am also confused as to who the main character is now.

Also also, Lance Reddick = Fringe for me.

Lance Reddick = that Guy Fieri parody character he did, for me.

Akemi Homura simulator = One of the reasons I want an XB1.

The footage they showed during the Xbox Briefing at Gamescom looks pretty good, it feels like an evolution of the time mechanics they were playing with in Max Payne 2. The story sections look really neat too with lots of crazy looking time scrubbing. This game is one of the main reasons I bought an Xbox One, it'll come to Windows at some point of course but I'm kinda nuts for Remedy games.

Looks really good and I see they changed the main protagonist which funnily enough I don't mind and also cool that it's coming out pretty soon.

Hate to be this guy, but all of that FMV/Live Action shit looked hokey and low budget as fuck. The game, however, looked pretty fuckin' cool.

I'd love to know if that was always a stand-in until the full cast was available for motion-capture during later production, or if there was some sort of trouble and they had to recast. The original version you have pictured there seems too polished for it to have been simply a place-holder.

While we have very little to go on, my gut reaction from what little we'd seen prior to this is that I lean towards preferring the original actor and overall look. That first Jack seems considerably older and more weathered than Shawn Ashmore, who always comes across as very young and boyish as far as looks go. Again, complete conjecture here, but maybe a consultant "suggested" that they make the main character younger and more "hip" as the kids say these days.

Ashmore might be great in this, though, I don't know yet. Just my reaction.

Anybody else think of that fan film/series for Fallout whenever you read the name Quantum Break?

Maybe it's the protagonist, maybe it's the part where you're a dude running around with an assault rifle yet again but nothing about this is grabbing me except for the VFX.

Which is a shame because I adored Alan Wake.

If it's one thing that Remedy knows how to do, it's how to world build and create atmosphere. I cannot wait for this game.

Sam Lake is slowly making his way onto pure scriptwriting, i would watch an HBO type series penned by him any day

Watching the gameplay from Gamescom upped my interest in this game, but I don't thing enough to convince me to get an Xbox One just yet...

This might be fun but it looks more like a typical conventional game then what they originally showed in the reveal trailer. If they threw away all the FMV tie-in stuff I'm disappointed.
