I don't expect anyone to do this, but if you go back through my posting history, you see I'm often, jokingly, over-zealous in my appreciation of Felicia. Sure she's one of my my favorite characters (look at my profile...) and apart of one of my favorite series, but my intention was not to sound like I'm bitching at all. It was more along the lines of, "hey, look at this crazy dude with the decked out Felicia profile getting all bent outta shape because she lost. It's okay though because he's clearly joking. lol moving on."

I don't think Capcom was trolling at all. In fact, when i posted that comment, the thought literally never crossed my mind. It was just me being silly.

I LOOOOVE how deep people dig for "Capcom Trolling" in their products. Do you think that they really went there to say: "Screw you Vampire Savior/Darkstalkers fanboys, Dead Rising is da shit," in a trailer for a PSVita game? Same with the Fat Mega Man thing; there, though, it's just them having a little stupid fun with their history, NOT a jab at all the Legends 3 mourners (of which I am one of them).

BTW, this is coming from a guy who is fucking pissed Gyakuten Kenji 2/Ace Attorney Investigations 2 isn't being localized; I'm angry, but I also don't assume Capcom is trying to troll the AA fanbase in any way becasue of it.

Calling it sub-par is just a bit too dismissive. It looks identical. My PSP used to be my dedicated fighting game machine where majority of my playtime was done playing Tekken.

The only problem I have is that there isn't a second set of shoulder buttons/trigger buttons. I needed that to pull off supers and and activate Xfactor without having to commit two fingers on the face buttons on pad (which is what I normally do while playing Tekken). Maybe you could configure the back touch screen to activate xfactor in none-touch mode? I could also see that to be a problem though since there might be accidental activation.

I've never played a MvC game before, but .....Rocket Racoon?!? Sold.

@biggiedubs: umvc3 has a touch combat option. For multiplayer, there's a filter to remove touch players as opponents if you don't want that kind of competition.

I may just have to give up and accept the fact that non-Smash Bros. fighting games aren't made for me.

I can't play that game on a friggin fight stick, never mind a handheld console. Considering that a lot of stuff in that game (like supers) require more than one button press at a time, I've no idea how they're going to handle the controls. Maybe they'll use the touch screens for something, that could be cool / totally a bad idea.

@Zaxex: I hear Dead or Alive on 3DS is pretty good, if you're looking for a portable fighter, but I haven't tried it.

@featurepreacher: Vita players can play against PS3 players in some games? I know they're doing a lot of cross-platform things with the two systems but I didn't know it had that. That should mean BlazBlue at least, is the same game on both platforms? If that works well that's definitely a cool idea, though I can't imagine that Wi-Fi or 3G connections can compare to wired.

@NoelVeiga: If the game can really compete technically with the console versions that could be promising for the Vita. If it sells well enough maybe they'd make a fighting game specifically for handhelds; that could be cool. Everyone would be on the same playing field with controls, and it wouldn't be competitively irrelevant in the way some handheld fighting games can be. Super Street Fighter IV on 3DS isn't ideal, they've had to make compromises with controls and it's now two versions outdated.

If you enjoyed MvC3 and cared enough to want to keep up to date you'd probably have bought UMvC3 by now. I'm not an MvC3 player, Ultimate or otherwise, but I own both those games (I just like doing combos) and I consider MvC3 to be pretty useless now. Likewise I'm avoiding SSFIVAE on PC until the 2012 patch. I think I'd really prefer version parity across all platforms or for them to be distinctly different games.

As I said, technically this seems impressive and if they develop something unique for it I'll definitely be interested. I don't know what they would have to do to make the ports compelling to me. I usually play for the online and the 360 has that covered.

@Tan: BlazBlue for the vita has cross play. SF x Tekken should have cross play. I don't think umvc3 has it.

Yes it's a handheld port.

I could be wrong but I think you can even play against people on console...maybe I'm just thinking of SFxT? Does that game do that?

As far as I can tell it's the full game running at 60fps and native resolution. If you believe the pre-release buzz that was actually pretty hard to do :)

Now, I don't know if I will buy this, mostly because... well, I think Marvel vs Capcom 3 is a pretty bad game. That said, if I was going to buy Ultimate I'd do it on the Vita. I already have vanilla MvC3 and I won't pay for another home console copy. Getting to see the new stuff while also getting a portable version of the game seems like a slightly better deal.

Is it an exact port? If it is, that could be pretty interesting, if only as an alternative. It does sort of fit into the "Watered-down console-port" category though. If you want to play UMvC3, the 360 and PS3 versions look better, probably run better, have better internet capabilities and allow for better controls. Other than that though it does look like a good port, I just don't know why you'd choose a handheld version of a fighting game over the console versions.
