Oh jesus. This is hilarious. I'm really glad they're just fucking the characters up completely. It's great. I can't wait to see Robotnik.

The redesign could have looked a lot worse, though. Sonic looks more like a long distance runner now. Dunno what's up with this scarf, and the constant sports tape, but it's some extra fluff to help add som character. Knuckles looks a bit weird, but I don't mind the roided up look that much. His "thing" is strength, right, so why not make him look a bit like a boxer?

I laughed pretty damn hard when I saw it at first. But hell, I'm optimistic for it.

My only worry is that they make Knuckles into Lenny from Of Mice and Men. If they can avoid doing that. Then I'm all for the redesign.

Don't worry guys, they figured it out, he has Nathan Drake's scarf. This is obviously the missing ingredient.

What is this Online Co-op? Splitscreen? Same-screen? AI Controlled with swapping? How many games built with CryEngine 3 have shipped on WiiU?

I've never got why people complain about char design in Sonic. I mean: most Sonic games are bad, I agree, but the characters don't look much more stupid than something out of Jak and Daxter, Sly Cooper or Star Fox.

The character design looks fine. People who complained about that are fucking nuts.

The character designs look horrible. Damn, Sonic Generations gave me hope for sonic, this trailer may just have taken the last scrap of hope away.

Why does Knuckles look like even more of a piece of shit than usual? I ask this as someone who digs Knuckles.

If somebody told me that, in 2014, I would be watching a trailer for a new Sonic reimagination with dubstep... I would shrug and say "Yes, I believe you. So what?"

That bit where all the characters were running next to each other gave me some nasty Sonic Heroes flashback... ugh.

I'm guessing it won't be like that though. From the pedigree end, possibly 4 player co-op platforming. Probably not the Sonic game I want (which is more the Colours/Rush/Generations end of things), but I may end up playing it anyway, when my friend gets a WiiU and has need to fill out a library with anything more than Smash Brothers.

The optimistic (and somewhat inebriated, if I'm honest) part of me would like to think that Sega reserved the title "Sonic Boom" for a game that, internally, they thought was worthy of the name, which up until now they haven't?...

Its a Sonic game made by the guys who worked on Jak and Daxter. I actually have pretty high hopes for it, the 3DS version is handled by Sanzaru, who made the great Sly game last year.

Even if you poke fun at the designs (which, with the wraps and environments) they all look very Jak and Daxter, which is a hell of a lot more interesting than anything Sonic's done in the past ... 15 years?

I compare everything to how ass spyro the dragon looks now after activision touched him or how ass the new killer instinct looks on xbone.

Or bomberman act zero.

This is decent update to the art compared to those I can at least tell it is fucking sonic and it is a sonic game with out the name on the box those other horrible reboots I cant.

See after Remembering this the update to sonic looks good. then again just about everything does. I know it can be a lot worse.

I don't think this looks markedly stupider than any other Sonic game.

Knuckles looks dumber than usual, and this is an awful trailer. Should Sonic talk? Nooooooope.
