So what happened to the whole, 'We're not looking at releasing bite size content, we want DLC to feel more like expansion packs with each release.' If having a house is all they can come up with for this, then it looks like same ole Bethesda, putting out random crap to nickel and dime ya until the next xpac comes out.

Half way through I thought it was a joke, I took a look at the date to make sure it wasn't April 1st.

So they let you build your own house i'm guessing out of a small set of prebuilt blocks and probably on a predetermined plot of land . Honestly if this was a open thing I'd be interested but I don't see that happening.

Any idea how much this costs? If it's free than that's awesome but the price-point could be a real deal breaker if they're asking too much.

I would have bought this if it came out about 8 months ago. I've lost interest in the game after playing it twice.

Only interested if the house you can build is actually trully custom, not a predetermined model with a few interchangable interrior bits. Doesn't look that way tho.

Now my Dragonborn can grow old in Skyrim!

I'm not seeing what's so laughable about this. It looks like a fun little thing. I mean, if it's $20, then no thanks, but at the right price this seems like a fun little bonus.

All we need now is a Co-op mode to complete the Minecraft experience.

My first impression: this seems like the same mistake as horse armor. But if there are people out there who want this that's fine. I don't need anymore dress-up in the game thanks, haha.

I presume that this isn't going to be as expensive as Dawnguard, because this doesn't look like a fully-fledged bit of DLC. This is cool, but it's not something I super wanted. And of course with the Steam Workshop you can essentially build your own house already.

I wish they would have offered this a couple of months after launching the game. It would have made sense for those of us wanting to display our wares and trophies on the first go around.

They seem to be going after Minecraft fans with this DLC, but the only reason Minecraft works is because you can make something cool then invite your friends into your world to see it. As there is no way of doing this in Skyrim, the feature loses its luster. It is good, however, if they are building the base technology/design for this sort of thing to be expanded upon in future releases.

This is exactly the sort of content Skyrim needs. House Hunters: Skyrim.

This is going to pull me back in for another month or so. Fuuuuuuuuu

I don't want children in real life, never mind in Skyrim.

Here's a small anecdote: when I had a passing interest in Fable 2, I was willing to at least buy houses and get married in that game. However, after having unprotected sex with my wife and it progressing to the having of children and whatnot, as soon as the achievement popped up I switched off my console at the mains to make sure it didn't overwrite my childless bliss with this dastardly new universe of responsibly.

So yeah, not adopting any kids if I can help it. In fact, I'd rather the update gave me the opportunity to rough them up a bit. That mouthy little brat the Jarl of Whiterun has? He could use a little humility, all right.

Personally I'd rather be a murderous Vampire Lord than build a house and spend time gardening...but it's not likely I'll have chance to do either on my PS3 any time soon.

@Procyon27: The console versions hardly matter. Frankly Elder Scrolls games on consoles are something of a ripoff, considering we've had hundreds of house mods, dozens of vampire improvements vastly superior to janky and silly Lords, and the ENB series of plugins that make the game look about 30 times better than it ever was. Always free, and always superior to the official releases.

And I thought they were getting back to the days of Tribunal and the Shivering Isles.
