Much to my surprise, this seems pretty neat.

Why can't the PS4 just do all of that?

I am way into this thing. Especially in white, if I can keep going with this white Vita theme more's the better. I love a white dual shock.

Any idea if this thing will play PSN games? If I can use this to play my CPS2/NEO-GEO Ports on my tv I will be over the moon. Samurai Shodown Anthology is the Business.

If you have friends coming over to play that next gen game but you don't want them to go in your smelly bedroom and you are too lazy to hook the PS4 to the living room tv, you can use remote play to send everything to the this little thing hooked up to the living room tv.

@killacam: it has a memory card slot, so I would assume you just put in your card and it will read your downloaded games

Also, looks like Giant Bomb might finally have a solution for making videos of Vita games? Here's hoping!

Might give Sony another reason to release (and re-price) a bigger Vita memory card.

What happens to games that use the Vita specific hardware? They seem to be using older controllers and not the Dualshock 4.

00:25 Dude looks quite strained, all that forced grinning..

I don't get how those things make it through.. "he looks like he is forced to. NAIL'D IT!"...

And I am not sure how they are gonna implement all the touch stuff for vita games (rest is quite brilliant), otoh I don't quite understand the Sony/PS4 ecosystem..

Can you use your actual vita as a controller for a game that's in the PS Vita TV and is being streamed, so you actually have that touch screen?

If so: great product!
If not: Half-assed implementation and immediately less worth buying for vita stuff..?

I'll just respond with my same response from the morning show podcast page:

Even if the device doesn't turn out incredible $99 is a great price people are willing to spend to give something a shot. Apple TV was that way for me and I will buy this Vita TV device when it launches. Whoever ridicules Sony for this move or Nintendo for their 2DS announcement aren't thinking of the big picture.

could potentially be a real killer device, as its sonys challenger to the apple tv and valve to a degree as its sony "steam box"

but its all going to rely on their streaming technology.

That is pretty cool. Also with the cloud saves, you start playing there and resume on your handled later and vice versa. I love it.

I guess it wouldn't have any storage for playing downloadable vita games, huh?

I assume you would buy storage. Curious if you could use your existing Vita Memory card and plug it into to use your downloaded games and use your saves off that without Cloud Saves.

YES. This is what I've been waiting for. Tons of handheld games I want to play on a console. Find the tiny screens too uncomfortable.

This thing is genius. I really hope it comes to North America, because I would both love playing my Vita games on my TV, and having a hub that could play my PS4 games in my bedroom while keeping the PS4 in the living room.

Awesome device.
