Somehow this game was just not as good as coh 1, which is strange considering how similar is it to the first title.

i think the fact that thq rushed to get coh2 out ultimately effected the game and it shame. its another nail in RTS coffin and sad see RTS disappear from PC.

Relic are also with Sega (Sega are publishing COH2), so it shouldn't be any different from the THQ days.

Sega owns Relic you know.

Everyone has been mum about the Dawn of War property ever since THQ filed for bankruptcy. What happened is that THQ had exclusive rights to publish 40K video games and tasked Relic with making Dawn of War and Space Marine.

Once THQ shut down that exclusivity expired of course, and now Game Workshop has been doling out rights to 40k games on a per-title basis. Slitherine is making a turn based 40k game, Behavior Interactive is rebooting the cancelled 40k MMO as Eternal Crusade, and so forth. But so far theres zip about Dawn of War.

In the past GW and Relic got along great and GW was very satisfied with the DoW series but for now nothing has been announced. And Relic is now owned by SEGA which also owns Creative Assembly who is currently making a Warhammer Fantasy strategy game. DoW3 may be in early development but they haven't released so much as concept art yet.

Stalingrad wasn't in the original CoH2? But that's like... the quintessential Russian WW2 setting/event...

I am going to sound like a massive nerd but when those rockets came down at the end did anyone else think "SPACHE MARINES!"

I didn't buy this game simply because how similar it was to the first game. Relic's gonna have to do a lot more to make me buy a sequel to one of the greatest RTS games of all time.

It's a great sequel, honestly I think the iterative/evolutionary style of development made it a much better game than the original. I need to get back into it, more people ought to have given it an honest chance.

I also threw a grenade into the middle of the Stalingrad in another game and Stalingrad blew up. How can it come back?

I probably would of bought this day one if they didn't separate out commander abilities into expensive DLC packs, that really put me off the whole thing
