Damn. Also I laughed at "The Conduit 2 has weapons". I would assume it does.

Posted by Winternet

Yes it does

Edited by Heartagram

Does anyone actually want to play a FPS on Wii?

Less QQ, more pew pew!

I guess copying a lot of guns from Perfect Dark is a pretty smart way to go.

Posted by MaddProdigy

Guns?? What will they think of next!

WHO WANTED THIS GAME!?

Posted by slashdotdot

Oh it is a sequel to that game.
I completely forgot about the Conduits existence. Weird.

People that bought the first one?

Conduit sucks. If you're looking forward to this you must be retarded.

There's no way that game was profitable/popular enough for a sequel to make any kind of fiscal sense. Then again, isn't mediocrity a requirement from a SEGA-published game in this day and age?

Do you have the figures to back that up, by chance?

Well, its sitting at a 69% on Metacritic and from its release to Feb 2010 (a month before the sequel was announced) it had only sold 350,000 copies in NA and Europe.

350,000 copies sold isn't exactly terrible.  Sure, it's not a million seller, but there have been games that sold less that have seen sequels.  Got anything else?

I get a mad Half life and Perfect Dark influence off these weapons, not that thats a bad thing. PD had some pretty imaginative stuff.

Actually, Sega will take chances on games that probably wouldn't get published by other companies. Sometimes these games are rubbish, but other  times, they are fantastic (Valkyria Chronicles, Bayonetta, Vanquish, Rez)

GoldenEye is very good.

It just seems odd to me that SEGA would put their eggs in a proven mediocre basket rather than try something else or just make another crappy Sonic game.

@President_Barackbar:  Like I said before, 350,000 isn't really that bad, comparatively speaking.

Sooooo... we would rather post this commercial instead of the PS3 steamworks news. Ok, whatever you guys want.

@Hailinel:  While you are right that it isn't a complete failure, its not really what I would call promising numbers for interest in a sequel. You also have to consider that those sales numbers are probably inflated as well due to the lack of FPS games on the Wii.

That's a sound argument if you're talking about a PS3 or 360 game, which require more resources and funding. A Wii game, while no where near inexpensive, doesn't require a game to sell a million plus units to be profitable.

There's a Conduit 2?

But still, it's an established name now.  People know what The Conduit is, and fans of the first might be interested in the second, and if the second game is able to fix issues that critics had with the first, it could attract newcomers.  Or it could tank horribly.  But that's the risk run with most games.  Unless you're marketing a musical entitled Springtime For Hitler, you don't release a new product banking on failure.

"Hey Bill, you remember that game  'The Conduit'?" "What, you mean that shitty Wii shooter?" "Yeah, that one. You know its getting a sequel?" "Nope" "Gonna play it?" "Nope"

Does it at least have Wii Motion Plus?  If it does...i still won't play it; but i'd love to see a quicklook with jeff getting super pissed at the controls.  Or anyone really, but Jeff normally has the best reactions...to the megaman quicklook!

Posted by Azteck

Soooo will Jeff review this one too?

Posted by zityz

Nit picking and Nerd bitching aside. I like the look and functionality of a lot of these guns. That gun that makes you invisible or the sniper that can shoot through walls would make multiplayer chaos.

I've never played the first one. To the fair Ive never played a fps on the Wii before I don't think. Visually this one looks pretty good. Here's hoping it turns out well.

Posted by Rox360

To be completely honest, I always thought the first game showed huge potential. It both looked and controlled better than most, if not all Wii shooters that I've seen. Ignoring everything I know about the first game, I actually kinda wanna play this just from looking at the trailer. Sure, it's giving me a solid "previous-generation" vibe, but sometimes that doesn't have to be a bad thing, you know?

As for why anyone wanted to make a sequel, it wouldn't surprise me if the developer straightened out and told Sega, "Yeah, the first game didn't come out great, but did you see the tech we managed to make for it?? Now that we have that, give us another year or two to focus entirely on game design and we can make something truly awesome with it!"

I think I'd fall for that if I was their publisher. Kinda looking forward to seeing how this game turns out.

So, looks like Perfect Dark weapons (well, aside from Resistance's Bullseye)

That sniper made a noise I've heard somewhere before, the *beep beep* sounded straight out of COD or something...

Well. Not that weird. Forgivable.

I didn't know this game would have weapons...

Posted by vinsanityv22

The first one was okay, but this looks like a genuine improvement. Both visually - I just saw the FEAR 3 "Divergent Co-Op trailer", and I gotta say, Conduit 2 doesn't look that bad standing up to that game - and gameplay-wise. Looks like they're pushing more fantasy guns with the sequel, which is - 100% of the time - the superior way to go. I'm so sick of FPS' with the same boring loadouts of M16's and SCARS. Seeing sniper rifles that can shoot through walls, and assault rifles that can turn you invisible, and guns that fire swarms of insects? That's cool as hell.

Looking forward to this. Certainly more interesting than "me-too Military FPS no.612". But of course, with Bulletstorm and Duke Nukem Forever coming out this year too, it still has some competition to stave off.

Posted by l4wd0g

Wow, it looked really good... For a Wii game

Posted by Heartagram
@MysteriousBob: This is my point...am i really going to play goldeneye or Conduitover COD Halo GoW Killzone and all these other shooters on PS3/360
Posted by wanderingpixel

First off, the game has classic controller support, so you don't need to use the motion controls at all. Second, this game looks great. I agree that it has a very Perfect Dark look and feel to it. Since RARE no longer makes games for gamers, I guess this is the closest we'll ever get to Perfect Dark 2

Also, why are people so against other consoles having good games? "I don't have a Wii, so this Wii game sucks. " THAT is the sort of attitude that makes gamers look bad. Leave that crap over at the NeoGaf forums, don't pollute Giant Bomb with that kind of inept commentary.

Posted by dbz1995

That looked pretty good-but I would have said the same about the prequel.

Posted by Tesla

Why did I watch this in HD?

Posted by Henrythetrain

and there was me starting to worry

Posted by Braqoon

I will buy it , played first one and enjoyed it enough to get this one. Better than some of x360 crap with pretty HD graphics.

Lot's of peoples still playing the first one on multi.

Posted by Klei

This looks like this generation of last-gen games that were half-cool back in the days of the late Xbox life cycle. Reminds me of Psi-Ops and so on, those better than average games that never found any solid ground.

Posted by MeatSim

Speaking of games that don't need sequels.

Posted by Spiritof

It says a lot about your game when Halo 1 still looks better than you.

Posted by Koolaids_Back

Oh sweet the Gravity gun! Also phase rifle? That'll be the gun in the campaign that you get like 2 bullets for.
