I think thats what made OOC so great. It took ALTtP and retold it. The problem is that every Zelda game after has just been a carbon copy of mechanics from earler games. What, I felt made OoT great was mostly the new mechanics, Zelda fixed 3d games. And every Zelda after Majoras Mask sucked because they are all the same, no new mechanics, no innovation in mechanics, and liner.

The Best Zelda games are Gameboy games.

I guess I am the one human being who absolutely loves the art style of this. I think it looks exactly like the character art featured in manuals for Game Boy and Nintendo games from when I was a kid. I was one of the few people who loved that art as well. I will admit though, the graphics seem clunky in general, but I think the design is fantastic.

My fear is that it will be TOO much like Link to the Past. That game is great, but I don't want a carbon copy of it. I have been playing through the oracle games recently and find myself wanting to play old ones likje those again than having new versions of them.

These are the same kind of people that trashed Wind Waker when it came out. Idiots never learn.

I didn't inherently like the way Mario and Luigi: Dream Team looked when I first got it, but it grew on me too. Not willing to skip out on a Zelda game because it doesn't appeal to me visually...

It's not so much the graphics that look bad but the art style, it just looks soooo bland.

I hate to play the 'you damn kids' card, but has anyone complaining about the art style ever played a link to the past? It looks identical but in 3d. I'm way into it!

Preordered it today. But, man, I wish I would've remembered it comes out on XBone launch day. Hopefully it's not packed in the middle of the day when I go pick it up.

I am hoping that the game looks much better on the actual 3DS. I can't help but feel they could have had more detail on the character and level design. Maybe it will look great on the small screen and I am interested because it appears to have 3D visual puzzles/platforms like 3D Land.

Not sold on the wall moving feature but I guess we will have to wait and see how that turns out. Nintendo should definitely have selectable difficulties (like Wind Waker HD).

The purple character I have seen in videos looks bad. He might just be the Jar Jar Binks of the piece.

The verticality and the wall sticking mechanic has a lot of potential for challenging dungeons. I hope they increased the difficulty. The last handheld Zelda I played was Phantom Hourglass and it was kinda easy.

I actually played through A link to the Past for the first time a few months ago. With that still relatively fresh in mind, It'll be fun playing through this and recognizing the landscape.

Please be good. I hope this game actually tests my courage instead of spending 30 hours yapping about it.

Hmmm I have yet to be disappointed by a handheld Zelda.

People saying it looks ugly, remember, 3DS footage always makes the games look a fair bit worse than they do on the actual device.

Part of the music in this trailer is A Link to the Past's Hyrule Castle theme reversed.

Just like two years ago with that Skyward Sword trailer.

Seems a bit of a stretch to throw Tearaway into the same group as a next-gen console launch (and all the games that go along with that), the first 3D HD Mario game, and the sequel to Link to the Past...even if they are all on the same day.

I'm definitely picking this up with my birthday money. It looks like a must-play with the 3D slider allllll the way up.

It's probably also worth pointing out that in almost every 3DS quick look they've said that the game looks much better on the actual screen than on the capture feed. If your complaint is the art style then ok, but I'd wait for some more hands on stuff before writing off the technical aspect.

I have to say, I'm really not a fan of how the game looks, both from an artistic and technical standpoint. The 3DS has shown itself to be capable of a lot better. This looks closer to an N64 game than a GameCube one.

Still, I'm sure the gameplay will be solid.

@bit_agent: @joeshabadoo: I'll be the first to admit that blowing up 3DS' image to higher resolutions will make it look like absolute shite, but compared to other titles on the 3DS that can pull off PS2 era graphics, this just looks like something from the N64 era. The lighting seems way too sharp, the "polygonal" models look like they belong in Donkey Kong Country for the SNES. I have a bad feeling about this.

And Nintendo, for the love of God: the 2DS is not a different platform. I understand that someone in the marketing department felt the need to highlight the new version of the 3DS, but Come On.

I'd play this but I lost my Gameboy Colour.

I really dislike the art style they chose for the 2D stuff. I would have liked to see some regular animations for the movement when Link is in flat mode, rather than just wobbling the texture from side to side. I get what they're going for but it's just not working for me.

I love ALttP, but I can't say this looks like the HD version of this (that would be more this). It kind of looks like the same soulless art style the New Super Mario Bros games have, which is such a bummer as Nintendo can definitely do better.

The game itself looks great, of course, but I really wish they had made it look more unique.

I think it's kind of hilarious that Nintendo thought it was necessary to advertise that you'll be able to "explore all new dungeons." An original Zelda with NEW dungeons?! Wowie!

Unfortunately it appears some of the hate for the art style comes from those that never played Link to the Past on Super Nintendo. I actually think this looks great and can't wait for it to come out. Link to the Past was my very first Zelda game and to date probably one of my favorite.

The lighting and texture work are both looking great, very much a rounded/smoothed over translation of ALttP visual style. The game's flow/movement seems fluid and responsive too.

Forgetting all of that, as long as the dungeon design is sweet and boss battles are mostly great then that's all I give a shit about. Hopefully the OST, recurring and new themes, are up to or near par. Early indicators have me hopeful

Not understanding the graphics hate, to me it just looks like LttP HD. Nov 22 is gona be a great shopping day, Xbox one and a brand new Zelda edition 3DS XL.

This is gonna be the best Zelda yet!

When they said that the magic meter would now just regenerate instead of having to pickup magic to refill it, I never imagined it would be that fast.

Looks like I'll be buying a new 3DS in the coming months.

Nintendo couldn't of picked a worse time to release two big games just before my PS4 arrives.
