Man, advertising for kids toys has come a long way since the day's of GI joe and Transformer cartoons.

I was dreading this day. Another money drain that my son will insist in putting on the already dwindling bank account. He can either save up for it or have it for Christmas.

@juggaloacidman: I'd say both! Both Disney Infinity 2.0 and Trap Team sound like they won't kill your wallet as much this time around, purely by virtue of Disney Infinity 2.0 just expanding what you already own, and Trap Team having the crystal trap figurines (which should be waaayyy cheaper than actual figurines, given they're just tiny and unpainted).

So in one sense, they're a lot cheaper to enjoy with this time around. On the other hand, them being cheaper means I'll have to get them both, and probably spend more in the long run... gosh darn it.

So, the traps are basically Skylander toys you have paid for, but can't use till you do some arbitrary in game action? Sweet! It would have been much better if each trap was identical like a Pokeball and could catch any Skylander you want. Whatever, I don't even know why I commented on this.

Skylanders Swap Force was fantastic! The real question is... Traps, Marvel Infinity, or sell a kidney and get both?

I tried to watch this, but it was too insufferable past the first minute, I guess I'll wait for Jeff's shenanigans.

So if each trap crystal only traps a specific character, then it is like buying a Skylander figure that you can't play with till you find then in the game. On the flip side it gives them an opportunity to advertise to you after you defeat each boss, plus those crystals are probably cheaper to manufacture than the figures.

@jaycee: Wouldn't surprise me. I read a Polygon article on Skylanders that stated they came up with the Skylanders idea first and just tacked it onto the Spyro brand for extra name recognition. But now Skylanders is more wide-known than Spyro is.
