If this wasn't Origin only I would play it.

Edited by pyide

It's a video game and I'd like to try it.

Posted by mlarrabee

If I was paying any attention to Titanfall I'd probably be really excited for it. My free time is precariously sustained by me ignoring specific upcoming games.

I signed up. Woo!

I feel the same way except it coming from EA. After all of the shit from them lately what with BF4 and that Dungeon Keeper mess I just don't want to give them any of my money. I'd love to play this because it seems cool, I just hate supporting game companies with horrible business practices.

Just a heads up, the trailer is a bit misleading: the registration period ENDS on February 14th. When you sign up for the Beta, they notify you that you will be notified by February 17th if you have been selected, meaning that probably not everybody will be playing on the 14th.

Eh, well it's hard to really lump everything in under the publisher. Sure this is a key sense of authorship that is inherent within a lot of EA's Games, especially within their mobile department. But for every Dungeon Keeper there is a Real Racing 3, and for every BF4...maybe perhaps there is a Titan Fall to be an antithesis thereof? We will find out soon enough! Cautious optimism is something that's always good to have.

Edited by Nashvilleskyline

@msavo: sorry to say that, but that's stupid

actually, I retract myself. If you don't want to support EA with all the non-sense they put their customers through recently, it's totally fair. Do you have an Xbone?

Edited by Astrophyle

I'll pass, but let us know how it goes! I'm always wait-and-see now with EA games. I'm done beta-testing for them. Let me know when a micro-transaction-free/premium-content-free/crash-free game from EA comes out.

Will this game be $60 with a $50+ premium addition like BF3/4?

I'm sad now.

Edited by Hassun

Heh, "beta". That's the term for "demo" these days isn't it?

I don't like Call of Duty at all and this sure looks a lot like Call of Duty with more verticality so I'm not very excited about the game.

Nevertheless I'll give the demo a try for sure, still have an Origin account somewhere.

Origin is fine, running more than one store client won't be the end of the world

I dunno, the internet told me that using multiple client's increases the risk of catching Super AIDS. Also corporate owned kill bot will come and kill you in your sleep and delete all your shit.

Also on a side note, Yahoo Games! Finally a source I can trust for all my games industry coverage! </sarcasm>

Agreed. There are plenty of other games out there.

You can totally play without Origin! You just need an Xbox One.

I have an Xbox One. The first killer app is Titanfall. Might as well sign up. Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze totally takes priority though if I'm invited to play, say, 10-15 days from now.

720p on a console I don't have or intend to have versus a PC I have that could run the game at 60 fps at 1440p. I'll go with the latter.

I for some reason remember this game looking much better graphically then this.

I thought i would be hyped for Titanfall but it never took hold on my lizard brain.

The initial buzz coming out of last years reveal didnt grab me and seeing the leaked alpha play footage may have actually lowered my excitement level.

The game play i saw made it look anything but innovative. Plus there were some weird aspects like AI teammates. They seemed to add nothing and their actions were odd.....maybe my memory is off but something about them made me go...."huh?"

When the giant robots finally got involved it was anticlimactic. They would quickly get destroyed then most players would camp and wait 2 minutes until another was sent down.

Im curious what the Giant Bomb crew has to say.....

So lets review here. You having a Titan dying in a blazing ball of honor or shame depending on the team. Another Titan approaching from the side for kill. A guy on the ground preparing to kill a Titan. And finally the guy about to be launched...is not having a good day. That screenshot is AWESOME!

This is trailer for a beta.

@colourful_hippie: What sort of Hippie cares about resolution numbers? It doesn't matter man, all versions of Titanfall are one. Everything is connected.

You're not a real PC gamer unless your monitor is 16:10!

I have no Xbox One and no intention to play this on PC either, but I hope it turns out well so that people who are excited to play it can enjoy themselves while I enjoy myself playing Infamous Second Son. That way, we can all share stories about the fun we're having playing video games that we enjoy that work as intended, and perhaps if this turns out well and the sequel has some single-player stuff (which I personally prefer to multiplayer), I'll check that out and have fun with that someday.

I apologize if this offends anyone.

It's only on Origin? For fucks sake. Don't they want to sell it?

Is it really that unreasonable to except a games store to sell all games? I'm not going to start a second games library on another client than Steam just for 1 or 2 games. I've already got way too many passwords and misc. accounts for modern quality of life stuff I have to keep tabs on as there is, I'm not inviting more of that shit into my past time than what is strictly necessary.

...even though I'd love to play those games.
*looks longingly at the Syndicate remake*
Our love could never be. :(

I'd consider getting it on a console to skip the whole storefront idiocy, but there's no people online on the next gen consoles because they sold like 100 units in the entire country before running out back in November.

Gaming in 2014 took one step forward and two steps back.

@bbk: How dare you!? Obviously you should be enjoying Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze, not these terrible so called next-gen games! *Sarcasm Alert*

Edited by MeatSim

I am still disenchanted by the Call of Duty style of pacing it has, but that mech stuff sure does look cool.

@dberg: It is not just on Origin, it is also on Xbox One.

Looks pretty fun! :P

This is the thing I do not understand. EA is a public company. EA has shareholders. EA would make MORE money if Titanfall, and their other games, were on Steam. How do their shareholders not force them to put their games on Steam? Can someone explain this to me, or tell me if I am wrong in my thinking.

It's two fold really. Steam wanted EA to do DLC via the steam store instead of an In-game and EA basically told Valve to piss off when it they changed their policy. Also by doing their games through Origin Valve is no longer taking a cut of their profits from game purchases. It's win win for EA.

Despite what you think about Origin its a decent service. Yes it's not Steam but it's also not Uplay crap.

The problem with that logic of EA's is almost everyone hates them and their "service" and being forced to use their service is actually a deterrent for many potential customers. So yeah they're actually decreasing their sales and thus their profit by keeping a game strictly available for play using one service. Their own greed ironically costing them money as usual.

Signed up, hope I get in. This is the main reason I bought an xbox one this year, after all.

Seriously, what makes Origin any worse than any other digital distribution platform? Other than it is Electronic Arts, but then you probably shouldn't buy it because it's being published by them.
