Man, I just can't get over how cheap this thing is. Valve must be losing like a grand for each unit sold.

I'm fully sold on gyro aiming. I was dozens of hours into Breath of the Wild until I noticed that gyro aiming was enabled, so I promptly turned it off. Then I couldn't aim my bow for shit. Turns out that without me realizing it, I was using gyro to subtly augment my aim. Not sure how Steam Deck will fare in that regard (seems like a system-wide feature but not sure it will be intuitive for all games).

This looks like a cool device! The battery life seems like the main weakness, but it's still pretty crazy to be able to play 2 hours of Elden Ring on a thing like this.

So if I have an ISO that I made from a cd-rom pc game is there a way to install that on the steam OS on this thing or is it strictly only games downloaded straight from steam that you can play? I'd might rather just pay double and get the Aya Neo with Windows on it if this thing doesn't run anything but steam stuff well.

@clapmaster: Pretty sure I've heard that you can install Windows on it and just use it as a normal PC.

@dodongo: Yeah but I wonder how well the drivers work and how game performance would be in Windows.

How do games with separate launchers work on this thing?

This is why I sub to giant bomb! Every other site, even Gamespot, has some BS video running down if you should buy it or not. However, GB is here sayin "fuck it lets see how games run on this thang!", and other than Elden Ring, these games look pretty solid (but I admit elden ring looks poorly optimized even on a full PC)!

@tarmander: Elden Ring causes my PC to turn into a small nuclear reactor. That game demands a lot from a PC when it runs. I can't imagine a handheld unit handling that type of request.
