GO away sequels, please just go away....Can I get a new ip

Yes I know this is Bioshock 2.5...and why does Levine sound so confused about his own game/idea behind this game...maybe just coy..
It sounds like they are trying to pass on the Bioshock name to please the"bosses" but really wanna do something different...We will see.

Posted by WaywardGamer

Ken Levine is an intelligent, funny dude. Great interview Jeff.

Posted by Tregard

You should've told me to go to the lobby beforehand, I could be here a while

Posted by ThePhantomnaut

50 minutes of awesome.

Posted by ruffedgz

The interview is really good even with the length... thanks for sharing this with us Jeff ;)

Stop drinking Guinness and watch the 10-minute gameplay trailer. This is FAR from Bioshock 2.5.

I pretty much have these same thoughts.

It's unfortunate that in this day and age, it's incredibly risky to try anything with a new name and have it become successful.

Slapping Bioshock on the title will do nothing more than push copies, but if that means more games from Ken Levine, then it's all good.

'grounded' is the last word I would use about Colombia if you know what I'm sayiinnnnnnnng

Also, who's the angry looking dude behind Jeff?

EDIT: Okay, he got introduced. I should stop commenting mid-video

Posted by Karbon

God. Could you get a less drunk camera guy next time...seriously, wtf?! Were you going for a blair witch theme with the cinematography?

Posted by 234r2we232

Let's see, how many Ken Levine Kool-Aid drinkers there are on this site...

Remo!

Posted by Faint

Really good interview. This is the sort of informative, intellectual content I enjoy from Giant Bomb, in between the funnys of course!

Posted by OldGuy

Yaaarrrrgggg. Must listen only - watching makes me seasick.

Ken Levine has a ridiculously relaxing voice.

Posted by HellBrendy

Interviews are great, but do they have tro b filmed buy a guy shaking like my grandmother?

I'm really psyched for this game!

Posted by JoeyF
@Karbon: Yeah my bad -- had a hard time with the set up.  Couldn't keep that camera steady.

Bioshock used Unreal Engine 2?! I never would have guessed. No wonder Infinite is such a large leap in both graphical fidelity and scale. Not that it matters, it's the art that truly defines the visuals of this series.

BTW, if anybody loves Irrational Games as much as I do, check out their podcast. It's really, really enlightening most of the time, and the format seems to emulate Robert Ashley's podcast, A Life Well Wasted,  so it's very well-produced. I'd really like to see more game studios produce their own podcast as well.

That guy in the blue was giving me the creeps

Posted by OldGuy
@JoeyF: Okay, pretend I'm not being a prick (because this might be me being that or it might just sound that way, I have to admit that I'm not sure myself):

1) Monopod in your bag (do it now and never leave it behind).
2) The more trouble you are having with a steady camera the less zoom you should use - getting in that close just makes it worse to watch.

That said I sympathize with you, when you wind up in that situation it's completely frustrating.

I love these kind of interviews.

The guy on Levine's right? That's Chris Remo, wizard extraordinaire.

Holy shit fuck.

2012 release? Good. Maybe I'll have time to finally get around to playing the first one.

Also, wtf birdman at the end.

Posted by Infinityslimit

video cut off before it finished??

Posted by RocGaude

Dope.  Ken Levine always gives good conversation.  Yeesh...that sounded dirty.

Posted by Cornman89

Exemplary first question, Jeff.

Posted by metalsnakezero

The first question really kick the whole thing off :D

The game SCREAMS Bioshock.  Weird setting, supernatural powers, a closed community going horribly wrong. What exactly about this game tells you "this isn't a Bioshock game"?  It has ALL the building blocks of Bioshock.

Great interview, awesome job guys.

Posted by RanmaRanma

This is the single greatest interview I've ever seen. Excellent questions Jeff as always. For once a developer gives us straight answers. Not a single "we can't talk about that yet." How did you ever manage to set this up? This kind of interview could change the gaming journalism industry as we know it.

Posted by DjCmeP

44mins?!?!?!?!

Posted by Jeffk38uk

Good interview, always good to hear the mindset behind Bioshock Infinite.

Posted by gbodyguard

Chris 'mutha********* wizard' Remo!

Posted by kelbear
I've heard other developers make these comments about working for 2k. They pretty much just left the developer to their own devices.

Ken Levine is a rock star.

Did you watch the interview even?
Jeff asks Mr. Levine that exact question and inquires about corporate involvement.
Posted by Warchief

that was a great interview. well done Jeff.

Posted by Kohe321

Jeff is great at interviews as usual.

Posted by JoyfullOFrockets

Wow, I never knew the original Bioshock was in UE 2.5. Looked exactly like UE 3.

Posted by Echo

Everything except for the camera work was great. Really insightful interview.

Posted by PK_Koopa

I don't usually watch interviews, but after the gameplay I just had to watch this.

Glad I did, that was a very interesting watch.
