Harcdore fighting gamers gonna hate.

I LIKE hardcore fighting games, but there are times when I get tired of the hearty three-course-meal of a Street Fighter III: Third Strike or a Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus and I'd rather go for a nice, greasy Mortal Kombat or Tatsunoko Vs Capcom. Sometimes it's FUN to have a fighting game be simplified so stupid/crazy awesome shit is happening constant;y on-screen no matter the skill level of the player. I also like stupid crazy characters and crossovers that make no sense.

Guys. Fighting games are always ridiculous if you think about them hard enough; this one just wants to be a bit more ridiculous and stupid-fun for everyone to play.

If you don't like it, go play Third Strike. It's a good game. You might even end up winning $10 somehow.

Sure, there's a place for casual party fighters, that's perfectly okay with me. The problem here is that this game was originally rolled out as a sincere versus series entry combining two divergent fighting game styles (2d/3d) for the first time. If they wanted to make the SF equivalent of Smash, they should have gone about it in a completely different way. First, be transparent about that from the start. And second, go even further with the changes to the system. This thing is still trying in part to appeal to the hardcore audience with the marketing insistence that the gimmicky add ons are designed to work in, and are balanced for, tournament conditions.

As for Mega Man, the insult here runs deep for the hardcore fighting game fans. There was significant request for Mega Man to be featured in MvC3. Instead they put in Zero. UMvC3 comes out, more RE characters, still no Mega Man, Mega Man teasingly featured in one of the stage backgrounds. Now he appears here, in a game that is supposed to be SF franchise vs. Tekken franchise, where he does not belong. And they put him in this form.

This is what they are doing for Megaman's 25th anniversary this year and I fucking hate Capcom for it. If they didnt cancel Legends 3 and everything megaman for the forseeable future this would be awesome but I can't condone this when viewed in conjunction with everything else Capcom has done to shelve megaman.

Oh wait they are coming out with a Megaman Pachinko machine next year in Japan that's it though.

After watching that, I'm glad to be getting the 360 version to NOT get the extra characters.

As much as a slap in the face as that Megaman is, that box art Megaman is something so brilliant and out of nowhere. It would receive a heck of a lot more support if the real Megaman weren't in such a neglected state.

Sony killing it with the exclusives, was getting the PS3 version anyway but be fascinated to see sales compared between the two versions.

The Mega Man trolling is pretty funny. As characters though these guys don't seem very interesting. They've gone for silly, and that would work fine in Marvel vs Capcom. In a game that more closely resembles Street Fighter, I think I'd rather have the version without two cats, Cole, fat Mega Man and a 3D Pac-Man (didn't those games all suck?). Well, I could maybe accept fat Mega Man but the rest I think would dampen the experience.

I'll get the 360 version (I was going to get it anyway) and I'm really glad it has no exclusives. Marcus Fenix and Master Chief would have also been dumb.

I'm still hoping for my dream team of Dudley and Yoshimitsu; my favourite Street Fighter and Tekken characters.

And they should totally rename the PS3 version Street Fighter X Tekken X Sony. Hmm.. but they also have a Capcom and Namco character in each. Capcom X Namco X Sony? That might be a much more interesting game.

I am torn... On one side, I like ugly Megaman. He looks great (in a bizarre kind of way), and I like that he is a normal sized dude, not like those cats. On the other side, this feels like pouring salt in the open wound of all the fans that wanted a new Megaman game, or Megaman in MvC.

Either way, I am going to buy this game... they got me on the 2vs2 mode.

Very nice. Lovin' it. I guess I'll be getting the 360 version - just because that's the only one I can :P - but nice bonus for PS3 owners nonetheless.

(also it's just a game, not like I'll be missing much missing those two XD)

This is amazing! If 360 doesn't get anything extra then I know what system I'm going with.

That Mega Man design choice is perfect, good on them for going with stupidity over crappy fan service.

This had me in hopes Microsoft could secure some obscurities, but I know that's not a probable thing. However, I'm still getting it on 360. I've got a fight stick, and all my friends on xbl, so that is where most of my enjoyment will stem from.

I don't give a shit about Megaman fanboys. This is the best thing to happen to gaming in years.

I absolutely did not care about this game and didn't want to, but now I think I may want this game.

After looking closely, it's basically E. Honda without makeup in a box art Mega Man costume.
