It's true that even if they nail the gameplay it might not be enough, max payne's narrative really is the driving force. but i'm guessing they know that we want a new york level.

didn't they have photos of the bald look for years now? i've always hated it because it reminds of Die Hard 4 and yeah kane & lynch, still If there are no bugs or anything I'm buying this, if you look closely the in door sequences are pretty "noir" , there's a lot of shadow and stuff, i know what you're thinking but I don't think they're going to write that off, it looks fine, and it's not like max payne 2 was that good, max payne 1 though, fa eva!

Is it at all possible that this entire game is a reference to The Hangover 2? Because it certainly looks the part.

Disappointed he got rid of his cool hairstyle. I really would have liked it if they actually kept the character looking the same in these 'revivial' sequels.

Looks like Man on Fire The Game. That could be alright. The old music doesn't quite fit the trailer though.

Not a huge fan of the Max Payne games but that... didn't seem much like Max Payne to me.

Max Payne 2 was rainy or calm. No snow in that game. It was probably for the sake of it being a love story and not a bleak crime-drama.

To be honest, the origonal max payne games felt like a bad cliche , that was part of the charm, i mean cmon man you meet you're best friend in a subway at the start of the game, he gets taken out, you're a bummed out cop who falls for a dangerous woman he can't have.

It's full of stuff like that , i really don't understand why everyones so pissed, i mean jesus you have a russian friend called VLADIMIR. Anyway the only developer i honestly think could handle this is rockstar so chill until the game comes out. Then you can go apeshit.

One of the worst trailers I've seen this month, it felt like a bad clichè. Are they trying to piss on the series just for giggles? Hell, not even the classic Max Payne theme could help this piece of crap. Pass.

Max Payne 3 looks like a combination of Grand Theft Auto and Kane & Lynch. Looks epic in the trailer but in terms of the whole package...doubtful.

Once I heard the music... I was sold.

Max Payne = Rockstars Uncharted... makes sense.

In all honesty, I am excited about this game. But I want to see some regular gameplay soon!

God damn, that fucking cello sent chills down my spine. Not only that, it utterly convinced me that Max Payne is, in fact, back. Sure, there's been a Game Informer and plenty of... screenshots, but that music cements his presence.

To me, Max Payne is defined by bullet time, and comic book cutscenes. So far, they're 1 for 2, unless they realize what a mistake they're making by losing the comics. Remedy utilized them because making FMV's in game looked like shit. It may not look like shit now, but the comics are integral to the Max Payne experience. Bring it back, Rockstar. Also, hire Sam Lake, just to be safe.

Also, pills. Not enough pill abuse in this initial trailer.

Holy crap, I kinda can't believe this is happening.

I really hope this game doesn't suck.

My friends and I automaticlly started speculating what Max Payne 3 would be as soon as we beat Max Payne 2(on DOA) back when it came out...Let's just say this isn't what we were expecting...We expected more New York and more snow.

His hair and tan does not define Max Payne. Max Payne is about gritty noir storytelling and over the top shootouts. If this game has that then it's a Max Payne game. Sure it's been awhile since the last Max Payne game, so it's hard to tell if he's relevant anymore. But how many years did it take Blizzard to put out Starcraft 2 after BW? And that game is incredibly relevant. I think we owe Rockstar the benefit of the doubt and let them put out the game and let it speak for itself. Other than maybe Bully, has Rockstar really ever let us down since GTA3?

Seeing in-game cutscenes and no comic book style story telling has me worried here. I loved Max Payne 2 far more than most, so if these guys can't continue what Remedy started, they're going to break my heart.

Yes, low-key lighting, and a industrial location are all key components of the genre, but they certainly aren't the "end all, be all" of the genre. And considering that Rockstar has yet to let me down with their narratives, I'm not worried at all at how this game will turn out.

Unless Rockstar came out and said 'This is a comple accurate replica of Sao Paulo', then I don't see the issue. The people complaining about it are looking for reasons to complain about something. I was a little skeptic and still am because of the addition of multiplayer, but the trailer was fucking cool.

This looks great. Wasn't sure after the initial photos but damn that trailer felt like max payne
