I will definitively wait with this one til i know how much of that desmond scifi asshattery they pile in. I loved Ac 2 and played it to the end (rushed through the modern day shit though), however as the end cut scene was rolling i pulled the fucking cord to my tv. Fools.

Well look, I would expect heists. It is a pirate game after all. If there are no heists, then why the hell am I playing a pirate game?

Holy shit this is exactly how I feel. That said this is the first trailer that actually got me excited for this game.

The name Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag always makes me think of something way more awesome than this game actually is.

Year of the Heist

Hopefully nothing (but they'll find a way). I find the core narrative of the franchise to be its weakest element. I just want a series of compelling self-contained tales throughout several historical periods and some acrobatic exploration and fluid combat. The whole templars vs assassin dynamic is so aggressively ridiculous that it detracts from everything else.

I haven't played an AC game since AC2, and this seems like the one to get me back aboard, pardon the pun. I just keep wishing for a game with all of AC's mechanics and general design but with fiction that doesn't make me want to pull my brains out through my ears.
