I was hoping for a new Zelda though....

Honestly, the more I see of this, the less I am interested.

Link's ChooChoo Adventure.  Have fun 8 year old target demographic.

Looks Awesome! Phantom Hourglass was great!

Not really that hyped for this game anymore. Why trains?

i want this but at the same time i dont

I typed out a much longer and witty comment than this, full to the brim with my blood, sweat and tears, but then I googled something for a spellcheck without opening a new tab, so my hard work was erased. I guess I'll settle for:

LOLWUT? TRAINS?

Posted by ahoodedfigure

Looks cool, although I hope it'll have at least as much hidden stuff as its spiritual predecessor, Wind Waker.

Posted by StainableTyrant

Looks like one of the worst Zelda games....ever. However take the train away and the game play actually looks fun. Remove the tracks part Nintendo! Remove it!

Where's my Miyamoto in conductor overalls w/ brass whistle?

WHY DO YOU LIE TO ME? D:

He's got a whip, that's awesome. Go Short Round!

I think I just threw up in my mouth a little

Posted by RiddleBrother

this looks kinda busted! the tracking  between screens is laggy. and some of the textures look terrible.
i like the controlling other characters component, though.

Lol That should be the name of it would work a lot better.

Love the music in this trailer. Hopefully there's nothing like the Temple of the Ocean King in this game.

Why is Thomas the Tank Engine not in this game?

Posted by Blitzer

They need to do something new with Zelda...
I hate to say it, but lose the WW style as well, it's getting very stale IMO.

Even though Phantom Hourglass may not have been the most gripping Zelda experience, I played the hell out of that game and I'm absolutely looking forward to this one. Hopefully they've refined the Temple of the Ocean King tediousness.

Last one was fine but I got bored by the end of it, so no, no excitement for this. Almost the same thing happened With Twilight Princess, I did enjoy that more but it was still hard to finish. Something needs to be done, and it better be going on right now.

Has Miyamoto been watching some Indiana Jones lately or something?

Posted by ArbitraryWater

Awesome, it's more of the same! (sarcasm)

I loved Phantom Hourglass and I'm sure this one will be just as good.  As for the naysayers, here's a novel idea:  Play something before you bash it.  Then, if you still don't like it, feel free to critique it on your MySpace blog that no one reads.

I got irked by Phantom Hourglass and the Ocean King part and just the fact that it was on the DS which (for me) strained my eyes (for me) and was hard to control with the stylus.  That grammatically awful sentence aside, I too would have liked a new Zelda experience but not a completely new Zelda.  The same basic formula is what keeps us coming back.

CHU CHU GONNA DO A DRIVE BY IN A TRAIN LINK GANGSTA STYLE HOLDING THE PISTOL SIDEWAYS YAAAAY BOOOOOOIIIIII BLAT BLAT

Posted by hagridore

Are we supposed to be impressed by dumb, faked co-op? I would rather work with someone playing a knight than draw a line for basic AI to follow.

And of course, fucking trains?

Trains+Link=AwesomeSauce

I really like Phantom Hourglass so this looks like it could be ok

Wow... replace a boat with a train. How original.

Twilight Princess was garbage compared to Wind Waker.

That's not what i said...

lol we're core gamers and we hate the whimsy inherent in the inclusion of trains. OH MAN FIGHT THE POWER. THE ADORABLE AND IDYLLIC AMOUNT TO NOTHING IN OUR BLOOD-HUNGRY EYES. I WANT LINK TO BE SHITTING DOWN THE THROATS OF HOOKERS AND BRAZENLY DECAPITATING BABIES.

Game looks cool. The screens where you see the track system make me think of Super Mario Bros. 3's overworld menu. I like that idea. Sort of eliminates the sensation of getting lost that I would sometimes have when I would jump back into a game of Link to the Past or Ocarina of Time. Or Link's Adventure. [/Zelda Pedigree Established]

The DS is the one place I've felt that the Wind Waker style feels really natural. The strong colors work better on the smaller screen, instead of filling a whole TV with EYE-RAPING BRIGHTNESS.

...I probably won't play it, though. Too busy, and Pokemon HeartGold is destined to consume my time. =(

Looks good, I like how it reminds me of Wind Waker.

Yay a whip

Posted by death_and_drek

I was hoping for a Zelda game that had Mad Max-style car combat, but I'll settle for a cutesy toy train with a darling little cannon.  Oh wait - no I won't.

Posted by DorianBlack

I never even finished the first DS Zelda. I didn't need another one. What I needed was a reason to buy a Wii but I guess Nintendo doesn't want my money.

Posted by Nadur

Takes place in the same version of Hyrule as WW right? I'm assuming so because of the same art style.
If so... were did all this land come from all of a sudden? Why does need a train in a world that's nothing but small islands?

Posted by HaHarr

Do the top and bottom screens seem a little out of sync or is it just me?

Posted by Media_Master

Kinda wished for anything else except cel shaded link....again

Posted by FewRevelations

Hmm... The cell-shaded series is DEFINATELY not my favorite section of the Zelda world, as it just doesn't seem to fit the epic legend that is Link and Zelda... Plus, they always tend to make the cell-shaded games more childish (and easier... But who's complaining about that?).
Honestly, I'm more eager for that Wii Zelda game that should be coming out in a few years... It looks awesome! But I have a DS already, and this IS Zelda, so even if it has cell shading and trains, it should be more fun than most of the other crap games Nintendo has been putting out for the DS and Wii... I wish Nintendo would make more games like the ones for the N64. That was the golden age of gaming...
On the bright side, maybe the train thing means that they really will make a steampunk Zelda game! That would be SO awesome, especially if they use a graphic style like the one in Twilight Princess!
