Operation Scarlet is live on PC

Scarlet Spear introduces a new limited time event in Warframe featuring "Op Link" (formerly called Squad Link). It is a new feature that integrates Warframe's Ground-based and Space-based Railjack missions together. Separate squad of players are working together either on the Ground or Space asynchronous to repel invading Sentient forces. It similar to the concept pitched for DUST 514 and Eve Online where two games were suppose to be integrated. Where players would be playing EVE (Online RTS / Spreadsheet Game) and console players could be playing a FPS, DUST 514, at the same time and each of their actions have influence on one another.

In Operation Scarlet Spear, there are a set of (2) new missions. Players choose either to participate in the Ground Based or in the Space Railjack variant of the mission. To start, choose a flotilla to enter, a new node found on Earth. When players join a flotilla, they will be matched into a instance with about 50 (I don't know exact number) other players. Talk to the NPC known as "Little Duck" to obtain your "Oplink" a gear item that can be access via the "Gear Wheel" menu during missions.

In the center of a Scarlet Spear Flotilla is a big holo-projection will that displays:

The number of waves of Sentient (known as Murex) has been defeated by players in the instance.

There is a timer displays the time remaining until the next Murex appearance. (The next world reset)

Ground Assault:

The squad on Earth will be working with Little Duck. The Condrix: (A Sentient Transport unit) are crashing down on Earth's surface and releasing sentient fighters, The Condrix are ("Butt-hole" looking things that spit out sentients.... ) vulnerable when they open up the dimensional gate. Players must shoot the gate to deal damage to the Condrix. After taking damage, the Condrix will temporary close up the dimensional gate, players must clear the red circle area mapped on the mini-map for the Condrix to become vunerable again.

Tip pay attention to health bar:

Grey = Invulnerable

Yellow / Orange = Vulnerable

After Ground team downs the Condrix 3 times and depletes their heath bar. Little Duck will instruct players to place down their OpLink(s).

As the Oplinks begin sending "Kill Codes' to the players engaged with the Space Railjack missions Ground team will need to then defend their Oplinks, from Sargus Ruks' incoming Grineer's troops, also trying to destroy OpLinks.

The more Oplinks active, the faster the kill code transmission goes.

Tips

Who to bring:
Volt - Electric Shields increase damage of projectiles fired through dealing significantly more damage to the Condrix at one time.
Mesa - Crowd Control, is able to clear several enemies on surrounding area with her 4th ability (Peacemaker)
Limbo / Frost - Limbo's Dimensional Rift will protect the Oplinks from taking damage from enemy fire outside the rift. The squad has to make sure enemies do not get to close as to enter the rift. Frost's snow globe is also a viable alternative.

What to bring:

Sniper Rifles are most effective against the Condrix. (Lanka or Rubico)

Murex Raid (Space Mission)

The Railjack Team in the Veil Proxima will be working with Cephelon Cy. The Murex are large sentient drop ship currently invading the Veil Proxima. In order to stop them the space team must place a Satellite (Kill Code transponder) at the mark location. Haul the delicate Satellite to the marked location without it become destroyed. The Railjack team must evade Sentient and Grineer forces will in pursuit. Once the satellite is place (don't worry once the Satellite is place it will become is invulnerable) head inside the Sentient ship.

Once aboard the Sentient ship, get to the marked location where players will plant their OpLinks. The OpLinks will begin scanning for Killcodes from the Ground Team. The space team must defend their OpLinks from waves of Sentient enemies.

After receiving nine Kill Codes from Ground Team, the Space team will automatically transported back to the ship.

Tips

Crew Ship Boarder - Satellite is most vulnerable to fire from Grineer Crewship. Crewships can 1 shot the Satellite. It is good to have 1 squad member actively boarding and clearing the air space of Grineer Crewships.

Both teams will repeat the same process to earn points and operation credits.
