    Overview

Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun is a deliberately-retro sci-fi dark fantasy first-person shooter developed by Auroch Digital and published by Focus Entertainment for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC on May 23, 2023.

Set in the Warhammer 40,000 universe, Boltgun features a '90s-era, sprite-based, fast-paced first-person shooter style ("boomer shooters") and puts players in the role of one the series' signature warrior-monk Space Marines. It also serves as a spin-off of the 2011 game Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine, set years after that game's events in the same Forge World of Graia.

The game puts players in the role of Malum Caedo, a Sternguard Veteran of the Ultramarines chapter sent to Graia to retrieve a power source that has allowed the forces of Chaos to invade through a Warp rift. When his squad's drop pod crash-lands on planetfall, Malum is the last surviving member and must carry on the mission alone.
