    It was an article last September, where Iwata said that Wii Sports 2 wasn't going to come for quite some time. Now I'm not trying to antagonize Nintendo.  Also, Wii Sports Resort won't be out until 2009, so it has been quite some time since the statement. But Iwata said that if the company wasn't doing as well then they would consider a Wii Sports sequel. Since the company isn't doing terrible, what do you think constituted their announcement of Wii Sports Resort? A medium to pack in Wii Motion Plus or something else?
