Want a peek at Cataclysm? Good. More than a handful of World of Warcraft converted are receiving a first look at a new era in the lauded and ever-popular MMO right now as you read this. Closed beta testing for expansion has begun in earnest and the awesome news is that you can join in on the party, too: it's as simple as having a bit of luck and the stamina required to sign up for a Battle.Net account

Cataclysm, the third expansion for the game, is something of a refresh. According to the expansion's lore, the corrupted Dragon Aspect Deathwing has conveniently went wild on the aging zones of the MMO. This gives Blizzard the chance to bomb the hell out of the said zones and furnish them a new coat of paint. It also allows for tweaks and fixes to keep the old game in line with the new.

Interested in Cataclysm? I might just give it a spin as a goblin, one of the two new classes launching alongside the content. But… I probably won't. I'm already addicted to craigslist personals and barbells. I can't juggle three life-sucking habits at the same time. Probably.
