After about 9 months of this, I  know at least 40/50 people personally who have left

Um...server x-fer?  Otherwise, your guild might want to reschedule their raid times for a less-busy time frame. 
 
I mean, seriously...I've never seen that happen once.  Granted, I haven't played in 3 months, but none of my buddies have experienced this either.  They're all on Shadow Council, which is an RP server and focuses on raiding and instances. 
 
If you're on a high pop server, then you can absolutely expect that kind of thing to happen.

You can add me to the list of casualties for this. I canned my accounts yesterday because of it and after doing some research and finding that this has been a well known problem for almost a year I got really angry. This is a game breaking issue and hardware related or not it should have been addressed and fixed by now. For it to still be prevalent is just unacceptable, especially for a company and game of Blizzards and WOWs prestige. WOW is fun and all, but I won't go back until this is fixed. I really hope that during the Q&A at Blizzcon that someone asks what they are planning on doing to fix this problem other than constantly passing the buck from one department to another within their company, and when it will be fixed.
