Do you guys play with you clothes, I mean sound on?
After playing wow for a couple of years I've noticed I've only turned my sound on for cut scenes.
I've talked to others and they mostly do the same. Sound is simply annoying, not useful in the least.
The only time I have found sound useful is for fishing, and I recently found an addon which turns sound on just as you catch a fish, then turns it off again.
I play with sound on all the time. I usually turn it down a bit if I have a podcast or something playing the background, but I never turn it 100% off.
I turned off the sound a long time ago, I just have spotify or something playing in the background while playing at this point.
I keep my sound down low, but not totally off. Probably at 20% volume. If it is completely silent then the game just seems odd to me. The except to this is in places like Grizzly Hills, where I love the music.
" @Xolare: That's not really the same thing... "Well, in my mind it is. It's like turning off some sounds in games because you find them annoying. In some games I try to turn the music all the way down because it doesn't really fit to the game or it just impairs my fun. Same goes with the people that decide it's okay to constantly babble on the mic about useless nonsense.
In my mind, sound SHOULD be useful. Again, I've never found it useful except for fishing. The last straw for me was fighting Murmur in Shadow Labyrinth. If there was ever a boss where Blizz should have/could have used sound to warn you of his upcoming attack, this was the boss. Instead you just get some lame text. Sound got turned off and I never went back.
I play with a pair of khakis and some boxer briefs and I don't worry about the sound because clothes can't talk.
Very rarely play with the sound on these days, just for story driven stuff. I have so little free time to sit and mess about with this stuff so I guess I want to maximise it by listening to a podcast or sticking a show on my laptop while I play. And they said that men can't multi-task...
Depends on the game. For multiplayer games, I generally run at 20ish% sound and have music/podcasts blaring in the background, whereas single-player games I usually run with sound on so I can hear the.........voice acting/story ya know?
as for clothes, I usually have the cat sitting on my lap so it'd be creepy if they were off -_-'
