How often does this kind of crap happen?

    No Caption Provided

I was playing the demo and it started off great. An interesting set up, good clean visuals, cheap repetitive music...I was basically ready to go throw some money at Amazon until I saw that. To give people who have no idea what's going on a bit of context, you're in a time sensitive (story-wise) life/death situation there's obviously a way out, and this girl decides now is a great time to hook up. Then when the MC sensibly asks her what the hell she's thinking, she just gives a "haha, I was just joking!" and then goes back to not being stupid. Someone please tell me this was just a one-time type of thing, I have the game sitting in my cart right now but I feel so divided.

I literally did not see that scene once during my playthrough. There was a funny scene with an elevator which lead to a conversation about getting wet down there, however.

Don't let that put you off the game though, those moments are very much in the minority.

It's a life or death situation where time is short right? That sounds like something I'd say. It blows my mind that a character cracking a joke during an obviously inappropriate time would un-sell you on a game. Unless there's a yes/no response that will end the game, you're blowing this out of proportion. I don't see how this is an issue at all.

@Ducksworth: This is not an actual scene in the game. That is the first puzzle room and Junpei is alone in there. However, there is some goofy innuendo stuff for players that "look" for it. You get it every couple of scenes or so. Really not that big of a deal. Don't let that deter you from an amazing experience of one of the BEST titles for the DS.

There is a lot of flirting and innuendo between the two characters, sorry. The better question is why the hell does it matter? How can that un-sell you on the game? Just buy it.

I feel like I did see that scene(or something similar), albeit in a different room. Either way, that stuff is pretty small in amount and is pretty much all avoidable from what I remember.

@MetalBaofu: I'm pretty sure there is a similar line of dialog (if not the same) in one of the second puzzle rooms when you're partnered with Akane and Lotus. The one with the two shower rooms and identical rooms.

I'm not sure if I believe you've played the game then. I don't care if there's flirting or innuendo, I care because in that specific scene there was literally no reason to make that sort of a comment. Regardless, the response seems to be that it's not a common occurrence so I'm good.

Edit: That was the wrong thing to say. I should have said that I don't believe you properly read what my issue was with the scene.

@Ducksworth: I'm going to say without spoiling anything that the flirty innuendo stuff ends being justified/making sense. It also seemed really weird and out of place for me while first going through it. There is some history to the two characters that you will learn about relatively quickly.

That scene actually only appears in the demo. In the actual game you wake up and do that room alone.

There's a few similar lines as optional dialogue, but it's not thrown in your face like in the demo. (I remember some incidental dialogue about laying down in bed and June gets all embarrassed.)

She has a couple of lines like that in the game, and you get choices where you can get Junpei so say things just as goofy, but it doesn't happen often enough to really be a bother.

Its hard to say anything without getting too spoilerie. I have not played the demo. And only got one ending. I liked VRL better just because you dont have to solve the same puzzles twice. But I have only gotten one ending in 999. ( I played VRL first ).

If this is your first Visual Novel, then you have to realize that having sexualized dialog is a norm. But the dialog in this is usually focused on the scenario you are in. The game is solid. But dialog like that will happen. And if it breaks the game for you then visual novels might not be for you.
