Duke Nukem Forever Hits On May 3, 2011

SURE GEARBOX AND 2K GAMES WHATEVER YOU SAY!

So, Duke Nukem Forever. That’s a game with a release date. Game Informer reports that the oft-troubled and oft-delayed shooter will hit store shelves in the US on May 3, 2011 and worldwide on May 6, 2011 for the PC, Xbox 360, and PS3

And publisher 2K Games is sure about this. “The moment fans all over the world have been waiting for is almost here,” Christoph Hartmann, president of 2K said in a statement. “May 3, 2011 marks Duke’s return as he unleashes his brash and brutally honest wit on the world. His return is going to be epic and one that will make video gaming history!”

== TEASER ==DNF was first announced in the mid-'90s and has somehow managed to weather more than a few storms that would crush most games, including a couple of engine swaps and a studio closure. At PAX Prime this year, Borderlands developer Gearbox Software announced that it had the game in its possession and intended to finally bring it to retail. Hell, it even showed off the game to the public for the first time at the event.

Look out for a DNF beta in the near future, by the way. Borderlands Game of the Year owners received promise notes earlier last year, but I doubt the beta will just be restricted to these guys alone.

Here's some box art. Now it's officially official!
