Duke Nukem Forever Hits On May 3, 2011

So, Duke Nukem Forever. That’s a game with a release date. Game Informer reports that the oft-troubled and oft-delayed shooter will hit store shelves in the US on May 3, 2011 and worldwide on May 6, 2011 for the PC, Xbox 360, and PS3. 

And publisher 2K Games is sure about this. “The moment fans all over the world have been waiting for is almost here,” Christoph Hartmann, president of 2K said in a statement. “May 3, 2011 marks Duke’s return as he unleashes his brash and brutally honest wit on the world. His return is going to be epic and one that will make video gaming history!”

Like Jeff said, what if this game comes out and it's fucking amazing? I can already tell that a lot of the more "self-serious", "treat games as an art" type of gamers will be turned off by the immaturity, but honestly, fuck those guys.

I dunno, man, this game is looks pretty sweet. I always liked Duke Nukem's style, but never really played through any of the single player campaigns since the second one. I played a lot of multiplayer Duke 3D back in the day with my friends, though. This'll have to be something really special for me to lay down $60, but as long as it properly captures the essence of Duke, I would happily admire the game from afar.

If that boxart is any indication this game will either be stupid and great or stupid and stupid.  Luckily I have a demo pass from Borderlands so I get to see for myself.

Jesus tap dancing christ, Please tell me that isn't the real box art. Please tell me that this is one of the rejected box art designs that was leaked by Gearbox as an example of the shit 3D Realms was wasting their time on.

I sincerely hope there is going to be a Special Edition box with lots of 3D Realms goodies.  An art book with lots of boobies would be a good start.

Duke Nukem focus more on toilet humor, while Bulletstorm is completely retarded in the dialog. But the marketing is exactly the same. I'd put both games on about the same amount of child like immaturity.  "

I don't know how to react to this trailer and box art. I mean everything is just so ridiculous.

It's not the mid 90s and I'm not 14 any more. I wonder if I'll still enjoy Duke.

There were two words constantly being repeated in my mind while watching this. "Fuck" and "Yes." 

Ok here is where i'm at with this game. If the game isn't a bug mess and it just plays well i'm all for it. No one should be expecting the next big thing in shooters with this and i don't think anyone wants this to be the game to do it. I just want fun and some awesome 90s cheese. It looks like we might finally be getting it.  
 
Also I think this game might be really refreshing with how shooters right now are crowded with super serious types of games. If the game is like the trailer i'm on board so we will see how it goes.

Its got basiclly the same kicking animation, which the whole legs aspect is what bulletstorm has going for it, minus the whip. "

I'm going to buy it... I'm not proud of this fact, but, it needs to be done.

Bulletstorm will be the better game."

This one game is going to get picked up by the media as proof that video games are hyper-sexual, hyper-violent toys for kids.
