Overview
Celeste is a minimalist single-screen platformer created for the "fantasy console" Pico-8, and developed by Indie developers Matt Thorson (Matt Makes Games) and Noel Berry. It can be played on the Lexaloffle site for free.
The heroine of the game must reach the top of each screen by jumping up platforms. Her abilities include a standard jump, a wall-jump and a boost jump which can only be used once before the player must return to solid ground to recharge it. The heroine's hair color changes from red to blue after this boost, as an indicator that the boost has been exhausted. The player can also collect objects, like strawberries which add bonus points and balloons that restore the boost jump in mid-air.
