    Overview

Mythic Wonders: Philosopher's Stone is a hidden object adventure game developed by Organic 2 Digital and published by Big Fish Games for PC and Mac.

    Story

The protagonist and her uncle Alfred have been building a strange device that Alfred says will open a portal to new worlds. They built this device according to plans that Alfred had found in an ancient book, however they had no idea how to activate it.

The protagonist wakes from a dream in which she saw Alfred with a stone in his hand trying to battle a strange, powerful man. She rushes to call him in fear that something has happened to him. When she gets no answer over the phone she immediately gets a train ticket and heads out to see him.

When she arrives at her uncles house she discovers that he has figured out how to active the portal and had entered another world. She enters the portal in an attempt to rescue her uncle and discover the power of the Philosopher's Stone.

    Gameplay

Mythic Wonders: Philosopher's Stone has players traveling from screen to screen using a point-and-click interface. Scenes are moved between by clicking arrows on the edges of the screen while objects can be interacted with and picked up by clicking on them. Some spots can be zoomed in on by clicking on them.

The game contains many puzzles which can only be solved by obtaining certain items from the environment, hidden object scenes, and other puzzles. Players have an inventory at the bottom of the screen that holds the various items that have been obtained.

In Mythic Wonders: Philosopher's Stone there are multiple types of hidden object scenes. There is the standard style which has a list of 12 items at the bottom of the screen and the player must find and click on each of the items in the screen filled with other objects. Some of these items can only be found by using another object, moving an object, or combining objects.

Another type shows players a series of pictures at the bottom of the screen. These images are of the objects that need to be found in the scene.

The final type gives players only one item type to find, but gives a number of those items that must be found, such as 12 bottles.

There are a number of different logic based puzzles in Mythic Wonders: Philosopher's Stone. These puzzles are often blocking the path of the player and must be solved in order to move on. Puzzles will more often then not give the player another item to solve another puzzle. Puzzles will also often require the player to place an item or items into it before it can be played.

Some of the puzzle types include; slider puzzles, wire puzzles, lock puzzles, rotation puzzles, mirror puzzles, and more.
