Not to be confused with the activity of pointing and clicking which could apply to any game that uses a mouse. This concept therefore does not include shooters, RPGs, or strategy games. The term 'point and click' generally applies to games such as those in the adventure genre popular in the early 1990s, in which the only form of player control in the game is that of using a mouse cursor to guide the Player Character and interact with the environment.
