Overview
Nitroplus Blasterz: Heroines Infinite Duel (stylized as Niro+ Blasterz - Heroes Infinite Duel -) is a 2D fighting game developed by Examu and released by Nitroplus for arcades (using the PC-based Taito Type X² platform and NESiCAxLive digital distribution) exclusively in Japan on April 30, 2015.
Similar to Examu's 2011 game Aquapazza: Aquaplus Dream Match, Nitroplus Blasterz is a crossover fighting game featuring characters from visual novels published by Nitroplus, as well as some other works by Nitroplus staffers. It is a spiritual sequel to Nitroplus's 2007 fighting game Nitro Royale: Heroines Duel.
The game was later released for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 by Marvelous in Japan (on December 10, 2015), North America (by XSEED on February 2, 2016), and Europe (on April 7, 2016). This version adds two DLC guest characters (Homura from Marvelous's Senran Kagura series and Heart from Examu's Arcana Heart series) and additional game modes (including online multiplayer). Outside of Japan, the PS3 version was only released in digital format. The game was later released digitally worldwide for the PC (by Marvelous and XSEED) on December 8, 2016.
Gameplay
The game uses a five button fight system. Light, medium and heavy attack and escape action and heavy action. “Escape action” is used to perform evasions and guards while “heavy action” can be used to push an opponent back.
Infinite Blasts can be used to interrupt opponents attacks, Lethal Blazes are the game’s super combo attacks. Also two characters can be selected for support and assistance purposes during fights.
Characters
The game was initially released with 10 playable characters, each of which are from a different Nitroplus-published visual novel (with one of them being a mascot for Nitroplus themselves). Two additional characters were added post-release, and two special guest characters were added as DLC in the console versions.
One post-release character, Super Sonico, has the distinction of being selectable as both a playable character and a partner.
Partners
In addition to choosing their main character, players can choose two assist characters from a roster of 20.
