@slag: Yeah I ended up being lucky and got my pre-order in for both the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. First time I have ever been able to get both new consoles on release.
I came out of the event pretty excited for the new Xbox, just as I did after the PS5 event wanting a PS5. I was kind of surprised to see just how much people seemed to have hated it. It was nice to see a pretty balanced take on the event.
Man, it makes me sad to hear they just throw away some of that promo stuff. I love that stuff. I would say at least donate it so someone who cares can end up with it.
I have only recently begun diving into the world of Yakuza when Yakuza 0 came to Game Pass. I am in love with the game putting I think 30 some hours in so far and only just hitting chapter 6. I am 100% happy to hear that they did away with the phone saving and the inventory restriction.
I get the feeling that each of these games are all pretty long up to this one? I am planning on trying to play most of them at least, if not all of them.
@slag: I am loving Yakuza 0. I have been taking my time just doing stuff as it comes along and taking it all in. I just hit 20 hours in and am only just starting chapter 5.
@slag: If you go to retroachievements.org and sign up for an account you have a couple of options on how to get achievements. You can either download Retroarch and set up achievements in the menu there or download individual emulators from their site. I actually just modded my Vita and got Retroarch on there so now I can play some stuff on there.
I tried Bless Unleashed for a little while, but haven't dove too far in yet. It seemed like something I could probably get in to if I wasn't playing another long game right now (Yakuza 0).
@slag: I kind of dove in to a hole of Rogue-likes after listening to a couple of Retronauts episodes about them and I remembered Dungeons of Dredmor so I wanted to go back and check it out again. It is also the reason for me playing Shiren the Wanderer: The Tower of Fortune and the Dice of Fate.
I don't revisit games as often as I would like to really, especially games from NES-N64 era. There are certain games though that I will play at least some of every year or so.
@slag: The work change was certainly positive as it meant a promotion with more hours, which I wanted. Just not as much time to play games anymore.
I do end up going back to a large number of games at a much later date. I even went back to Dungeons of Dredmor at the end of last year after having not played it since like 2012.
@slag: Quite a lot of these games are like 10-20 minutes. I like playing such a wide range of games that I like to at least try a bunch of games. Also with things like the Humble Bundle monthly thing they do and Game Pass that allow me to have such a huge choice of games at such a low barrier to entry I like to try out a bunch of things to see what I like.
I do try and go back to the games I really enjoy and play more of them though. Work situation changed in the past year that left me with a lot less time to play games, so that doesn't help.
Also regarding Sword Art, it seems to be alright. It feels like a pretty typical 3rd person action anime game to be honest. I haven't really gotten much further than the tutorial (which is quite long) but I do plan on going back in to check it out some more.
