So, first: I would enjoy watching more Bloodborne. Bail if you're not digging it, of course, but the opinion from the peanut gallery seems to be that this is high quality entertainment.
Second, Bioshock Infinite would also be cool to watch. The game wasn't up to the standards of the first one, but I don't think it's fair to shit on a sequel for not also being a contender for best of the decade.
Third, this is a perfect time for a new Endurance Run. So many people are stuck at home, a one-a-day series would be so good. Lots of work on your end, but we'd all love it.
New/blind playthroughs of Fromsoft games are some of my favourite things on the internet - I am loving these, and hope Jan keeps going.
Tips! - Your blood vials always do about 35% of your max life, so the more total health you have, the better each one heals you. - Tap O to dodge or quickstep, hold O to sprint, quickly release and then tap O while sprinting to jump - You have more attacks! Try attacking from a sprint, after a backstep, after a dodge, and while falling. Jump attacks are done by tapping forward and R2 at the same time. - Backstabs are similar to parries - when you hit an enemy in the back with a charged R2 they will take a knee same as when you shoot them. You need to get right up on them and tap R1 to complete the backstab. - Throw an oil urn before throwing a molotov - it will do much more damage. You can't buy these (yet), so don't waste them. - You can see on your health bar how much health you can recover after taking a hit. It goes down really fast, though, so you need to get in there quick if you want to get any benefit. - Speaking of regain, you can get the health you spend to make bullets back if you can attack an enemy quickly enough. - You know the door leading on to the bridge from the dark house? Those two wolves are too big to fit through it. Feeling cheesy? - Remember that very first room you started in? Where you first woke up on a medical gurney? Maybe you should go check that spot out. - Bloodborne is fairly nonlinear. If a boss is giving you trouble, consider exploring some more and then coming back and trying again.
This is a fascinating and incredible amount of work, bravo. Looks like we have an answer to that query on the podcast, about whether there is still any interest in the original Nier.
Think you'd mind sharing your data? Would be interested in trying some different weighting scales, seeing how stuff plays out.
No one else on staff gets me so consistently furious as does Dan, but no one else gets as consistent a laugh from me either.
I've been following Dan since his time at Game Informer, and in fact basically followed him here to GB (I had had an account before, and occasionally listened to the bombcast, but it was not a daily check in for me like it is now). I am truly bummed that this is over - not being a wrestling fan and having bounced off the pod he does with his wife, Dan has shifted away from me.
I'm going to miss the guy. Dan Ryckert is a monster, but he's a monster whose escapades have brought me no end of joy.
