Looks like Rizon has changed their nickserv settings since I checked it last year when we were looking to hop servers. Back then the option for setting the nickserv kill options to Quick didn't exist, and the default "on/off" function didn't actually do anything. So Rizon is probably the best bet. Although I no longer has my nick there anymore, it dropped a few months back and someone else registered it.

There has never been any website based subscription fee that has ever made sense. There is nothing worthwhile that you get from any Videogame/Sports/News/whatever website subscription plans that you can't get elsewhere for free. Why would Giantbomb be any different?
That said, I wouldn't begrudge them for going the sub fee route. They have to make money and if there is a market for it they should tap it. Hulk just wouldn't be part of that market.

This is the first real outage DA has had since we started the GB channel there. They've had netsplits, but that happens on every big IRC network. DA was chosen because Gamesurge (the original server) lacks lots of features that some people wanted. Carlos and Johnny5 were already familiar with DA and had previous channels there, and since DA had all of the various service features Gamesurge lacked, we jumped ship to there. Rizon was one of the servers Hulk was looking at when we first decided to switch servers, but it doesn't have the kind of nickserv enforcement that we were looking for. (Example: Hulk is on there right now on a registered nick, but it's not forcing a change, and there is no nickserv option to force a 30-60 second timeout.)
In the meantime, just use Rizon since that's where more people are right now. In the meantime we'll look for a new server that has the proper setup incase DA never comes back. If anyone has a stable IRC network with proper nickserv identification time out feel free to post it. Preferably a low population one for nick availability.

Every site that you visit online has the overwhelming majority of users in favor of having button controls brought back whether it's through preferring controls that are 100% responsive 100% of the time, or just on the basis of removing features from sequels is never a good idea.
But then you check Giant Bomb and there are a vast majority of people on the pro-stick bandwagon simply because Jeff said he was in his article. It wouldn't be a surprise at all to find out that most of the people posting have no intention of ever playing Fight Night, they just wanted to +1 whatever their hero was saying. Lemming Party.
Everything in the patch notes is fine except for adjusting the rate of Flash KOs. Strikers are already disadvantaged enough in the game, making flash KOs less frequent is only going to skew things further in the favor of grappling. If anything the flash KO/rocked rate needs to be increased since as is players can already take a large amount of flush punches to the head without getting knocked out.

The stick controls in FNR3 were a gimmick and all players that actually wanted solid, reliable response used config 3 (buttons). Then for FNR4 they take that away and force people into playing with the gimmicky controls. This is why veteran fans of the series were upset because they were having something gimmicky forced down their throat for no real reason.
Tons of people skipped over this version of Fight Night because of the numerous problems with online play as well as not being able to remap the control scheme. Adding in the option to customize controls is only going to help the game sales.
Never really liked any of the 3S characters. SF4 already has a billion shotos so may as well toss Sean in there, although he would have to be really young if they want to try to keep it canon. Yun and Yang are already in Chun Li's opening movie so may as well throw them in.
