My approach to SLi or Xfire is definitely a wait and see. For example a lot of UE4 demos do not support multiple gpus (it depends on temporal accumulation for certain things so AFR breaks their implementation).

With upcoming dx12/Vulkan APIs, all the responsibility for implementing multi-gpu is going to reside with game developers and not the IHV. On one hand it is better as you can implement better solutions like SFR, also the IHVs won't have to hack around engines just to get multiple gpus working. On the other hand game devs are going to have to put in extra work to implement full multi-gpu support (versus the current approach where they have to do very little work), where all this extra work is on top of the greater workload to use these low level APIs.

So basically tl;dr Multi-GPU support may improve, but it is just as likely to become far worse.

Currently:

  1. Witcher 3
  2. Bloodborne
  3. Cities Skylines
  4. Pillars of Eternity

I expect MGSV to knock number 2 downward (possibly Persona 5 if it is still coming this year). We'll see...

@zeik: Yeah, the game sometimes has a few continuity issues. Generally forgivable given the complexities involved.

@zeik: Have you done the brothers in arms quest(s) (plus another story quest which I won't spoil)? People only show up once that is done.

A week later and still no AMD drivers.

Are you running crossfire? Otherwise I'm not sure there is anything to complain about, the current drivers run the game really well, which is not something you can say for Kepler users.

@asilentprotagonist: Honestly the character models in MGSV look like Plasticine. The skin shaders are very much guided by previous generation concerns. I suggest you take a look at the W3 screenshot page, the detail in the armors and pbr materials is on an entirely different level.

@asilentprotagonist: "looks" is entirely subjective but MGSV isn't pushing nearly as much detail onto the screen as W3.

There isn't any magic here. it achieves 60 fps on the ps4 by culling lights, reflections, geometry and foliage very aggressively. I'd say the barren landscape works well in context with the technical requirements of the game.

MGSV is 1080p 60 fps, and I think its better looking than Witcher 3. Either the fox engine is crazy optimisable, or the PS4 is.

Witcher 3 doesn't look very good, even on PC.

Yeah, this guy should do himself a favor and check out some screenshots on NeoGAF. Check it out.

Yeah. I know looks are an opinion, and opinions can't be wrong, but people saying it doesn't look good are just plain wrong.

@oldirtybearon: The last act goes much more quickly. After you find Ciri tthe pace of the game accelerates towards the ending. However, even then the game spins off a few very entertaining side quests.

Potions and Bomb consumables only need to be crafted once. They restock when you meditate and use hard alcohol from your inventory in order to replenish.

What. What what what. Does the game ever tell you that? I've been stuck without Swallow for like an hour and I just decided to dump it out and craft a new stack. They really seem to be downplaying the "prepping" aspect of these games.

No it actually doesn't you just sort of notice because it won't let you make more after you craft it the first time and when you eventually meditate you notice a blurb about using alcohol and boom you have all your potions back.

I'm fairly sure they state that you can replenish with alcohols in the alchemy tutorial screens.
