I played the beta a bunch of months back because I backed this on KIckstarter
First off, the sword play is interesting but really fucking frustrating and un-intuitive. It uses a dial system for direction of attacks and combos and while it is pretty satisfying to pull off, it was a huge pain in the ass to get a hang of. I understand they are going for full realism when it comes to sword fights and that's admirable, but it seemed that by going 100mph in the direction of Realismville they forgot to get gas at Funtown.
The game was beautiful and had a unique style going for it by being a period-piece, but man at least in the beta the world itself was boring as fuck. There isn't much to do and the few quests I was able to play were so devoid of fun that it just felt like a slog
The dialogue was painfully bad, the inventory system is confusing, and the animations of the NPC's were extremely wooden.
This is the ARMA of medieval games. I'm sure there's a market for that. But I sure am not a customer.
I mean, beta is where the dev is supposed to refine the gameplay, animations, and systems. A bunch of months back could be a year-old build, since it seems they don't put out new builds often. It's very possible this all got fixed, or at least to an acceptable level.
I'm definitely not going to preorder, that's not a smart choice for a full-priced game from a new dev. I'm going to be watching its launch closely though. Might be the first time I ever actually use twitch.
I don't think this would have been bad if it was transparent and brought up upfront but hiding it for players to find out on their own is just a bad move. Now they gotta look into every system (loot drop RNG%?) to see what else is being hidden from players. This isn't the worst but isn't a good look following the whole PC banning debacle.
This is the huge thing. They were straight up lying previously. The experience shown in the game wasn't what you were getting.
The problem isn't the throttling, it's the lack of being up front about the system. Super shady. Like, if no one had noticed, I bet you anything they wouldn't have ever said anything.
"Not happy with the results" my ass. More like, not happy we got found out.
I don't know. First of all, where the fuck is our new defense hero? we've had TWO added offense heroes, a support, a tank, and now a support again? Give us another defense hero.
Second, she seems like a mashup of zenyatta and ana. I'm starting to feel like we've got too many heroes now.
What would you suggest for a new defensive hero?
We already have 3 turrets, 3 snipers, and junkrat. I'm not sure what other utility they could add that wouldn't just be more of the same.
Fire guy. You know flamethrower and maybe molotov cocktail type grenades going on. I don't know just something to do with fire!
Did you watch the trailer for Moira? She literally has a healing flamethrower skill. I think Junkrat is the fire-ish guy, he's actually on fire and shoots grenades.
I'm not saying there's nowhere to go for them, I'm just saying, from day 1 they already had redundancies in the lineup.

I tried to go back to WoW last year and man, it just doesn't feel the same. I don't dig the new areas at all. The Pandarea starting area/story was neat, but everything else is just lame.
I'm pretty excited to go back and just be in that place again, even for a little bit.
