Quick Look: Shovel Knight Dig

This is also available for the Mac, iPhone, iPad and Apple TV through Apple Arcade. Even if you're avoiding listing mobile ports, the Mac version runs on an actual computer and is pretty much identical to the Windows one in features and performance. Please get your platform lower thirds right.

This looks great!! Had no idea it existed until now. Man I love me a good case of the runs. I still play Hades every now and then just for the feel of it, even though each area is just way too familiar now.

Oh and the runs can also be referred to as Diarrhea, The Squirts, My Choco-Guest and Taking the Gloom Flume to Butt Bay. Even if you're avoiding listing other names for the Sunday Sloshes, please get the terms right in future.

I liked Shovel Knight, didn't love it, but this looks really cool.

Edit: Hmm, quite a few Steam reviews saying it's very short and can be beaten in a few hours without much reason to keep playing afterwards. Guess I'll wait for a sale.

@bakoomerang: this was my experience. I spent a couple hours and only made it past two bosses, then I had a good run and made it all the way to the end and beat the final boss.... and then it was just over, I guess? There wasn't a clear incentive to go through it again. I was kind of disappointed.

The Achievement list for this game is pretty lengthy. That would add extra value for Achievement hunters I suppose. I'm looking forward to this and Rogue Legacy 2 eventually for Playstation.

BTW, this game is developed by Nitrome, not Yacht Club. Nitrome has been around for a long time and is best known for a bunch of cool Flash games.

Yacht Club are working on their new game and new IP, Mina the Hollower.

I feel like if Dan liked the mole boss and pogo-ing around on him as he dove back and forth, he would actually like Hollow Knight if he played any significant chunk of it.

I'd bet there's some kind of secret goal triggered by breaking that drill with the cog-on-a-string. That sounds very much like intentionally killing yourself with the ankh to open a secret passage in Spelunky.

I looked forward to this when the trailer first hit, but I hadn't thought about it in a while. I came here after seeing a concerning review on Kotaku. Not being able to cancel the shovel pogo really doesn't sit right with me, but now I see it's not so bad because of the different terrain types.

I'll likely pick it up soon, even if it's as slight an experience as people say. Yacht Club put so much into Treasure Trove that I'm happy to pay full price on its other releases.

I didn't think much of this game when it was first announced, but this looks pretty fun!
