Stunning Graphics Can't Save a Mediocre Adventure Game 0

I love mystery games. I love detective novels. I love adventure games. On paper, The Vanishing of Ethan Carter is going for something I should love. Instead, I found the game to be kind of a mess. While the game might be one of the best looking titles in recent memory, it feels closer to a loose collection of concepts with no connecting tissue to make it a complete video game.Ethan Carter plays much like a first-person adventure game in the vein of Myst. While you could call it a walking simulat...

    Great short adventure game 0

This game came up multiple times in my search for Lovecraftian games and I think it was mainly due to the Cthulhu reference in the game. I also wouldn't really call it a horror game but it was a great game none the less. The puzzle solving was minor but enjoyable, the game looks good and had god music and sound. The Vanishing of Ethan Carter Reviev 0

http://youtu.be/NLCTKjwBmY0The world in The Vanishing of Ethan Carter first appears as a beautiful, yet sleepy, backwoods town, but it quickly becomes apparent that not all is well. A more desolate, abandoned, feel grows on Red Creek Valley, like it's been neglected by the outside world for decades, its prime time having long passed. This eerie view of our mundane world is also visible through the documents and newspaper clippings found throughout the valley, portraying an outside view of life i...
